One thing that I love about my yard is that the plants bloom at various times so there is always something in bloom through out the spring, summer, and fall. There are so many different types of blooming plants and bushes, it can be hard to know what to plant when and where. I was happy so many years ago when I purchased my home that the front yard was already planted with wonderful choices. I have, of course, added some to the area as well.
The bush I am featuring today can be trained to be a bush or a tree. We have ours in a bush formation in two different places, one in purple and one in pink. Each summer they burst with awesome flowers. It is called a Crepe Myrtle It reminds me of the lilacs that my Mom grew. Those are my favorite flower and are so hard to grow where I live. So I have to be satisfied with this beauty!

I love purple flowers and you have wonderful garden with so many different types of flowers and bushes blooming at different times of the year.
I love purple flowers. My grandma planted a lilac bush in her backyard, & by the time she died, over 20 years later, it was so big it covered half of the side of her garage!
They are beautiful and alive with color. I admire your dedication to growing these even if it is difficult. I have been trying to grow lilacs where I live and it is quite an endeavor.
My favorite color is purple, so I am very partial to purple flowers!
So pretty and wonderful to see this time of year. Spring is my most favorite time of year because of the new flowers so thanks for posting this picture to remind me that we can still see flowers this time of year.
I adore crepe myrtle. Have you ever seen this funny blog ‘Crepe Murder’: southernliving.com/home-garden/gardens/crepe-murder
