Movie Date Night – The Longest Ride
Last week I published a post on an upcoming date night that I was planning with my husband. In that post I told you all that we would be having a date night this past weekend and would be watching the movie “The Longest Ride”. You can read my original pre-date-night post —-> HERE. This movie was recently released on DVD and is currently a HOT Video on Demand!

The Longest Ride stars up & coming stars Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood. This movie will definitely tug on your heartstrings as they bring Nicholas Sparks’ beloved novel to life.
Based on the bestselling novel by master storyteller Sparks, THE LONGEST RIDE centers on the star-crossed love affair between Luke, a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback, and Sophia, a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world. As conflicting paths and ideals test their relationship, Sophia and Luke make an unexpected connection with Ira, whose memories of his own decades-long romance with his beloved wife deeply inspire the young couple. Spanning generations and two intertwining love stories, THE LONGEST RIDE explores the challenges and infinite rewards of enduring love.
We started our date night with a takeout dinner from Outback Steakhouse which we enjoyed here at home. After dinner…we headed out to the pool for an hour and had a little bit of fun. After swimming we decided it was time to sit down and watch our movie. We prepared a big bowl of popcorn, a bowl of the Chex snack mix and fixed ourselves a nice strawberry margarita cocktail.
Sometimes movies start out a little slow and work up to their dramatic story line but not this one. Within 15 minutes of watching the movie you are definitely intrigued by the characters, the challenges they face and find yourself cheering them on for success. The actors really draw you into the story line and have great chemistry together. I seriously don’t think 2 other actors would of had chemistry together like these two!
I found myself drawn to both of these characters and I really enjoyed the story line from start to finish. At times I found myself cheering them on and at other times I felt water accumulate in my eyes. Usually I am not a sappy romantic…but this movie definitely brings that out of you! Finally, I really like how the movie ends and no…I am not going to tell you the ending because I really want you to see it for yourself. That’s right, I don’t do movie spoilers at all.
Hubby and I had a really nice date night together and BOTH of us agree…this is a great “date night” movie that you all should see. It’s currently available for purchase and you can rent it or buy it on Video-on-Demand too!
