How many of you enjoy making and eating Pillsbury’s Crescent Dogs? Come on now, raise your hands? My family loves eating them for lunch, snacks or even for party appetizers when we are entertaining family and friends.
I have to admit, I enjoy them too but I like them the good old-fashioned way with just a hot dog and some cheese. However, my hubby came up with his own creation which he calls the Honey Mustard Crescent Cheese Dog and here is how he makes them.
Honey Mustard Crescent Cheese Hot Dogs
He uses bun-length hot dogs and cuts them in half. He then cuts his American cheese slices into quarters. He layers a half of a hot dog, a quarter slice of American cheese onto the unbaked crescent roll. He then adds a teaspoon of honey mustard dipping sauce. Roll them up and place them into a baking pan.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Baking for 8-10 minutes or until crescent rolls are lightly brown and the hot dogs are steaming hot. Remove from the oven and let stand for 4-5 minutes. Serve warm.
How do you like to enjoy your Crescent Dogs? The good old-fashioned way or to you add your own unique twist to them?

I like to add mustard or honey mustard to my crescent dogs too, but no cheese. I shall have to try it next time with cheese. I love. Recent rolls for both sweet and savory dishes.
This looks good like to try this
I like this version. Crescent rolls are so versatile.
I love pigs-in-a-blanket! This sounds like a good variation on them!
My husband would really like these with the honey mustard and cheese filling. Me tool
My mom used to make them the classic way for my siblings and I as an afternoon snack after School. Now you can whip them up with all kinds of different fillings. I like to put pie fillings (cherry or apple) inside them too and turn them into dessert snacks. (minus the hot dogs and cheese LOL)
We enjoy them. Good and easy comfort food. I haven’t tried your husband’s way, but I like his creativity. This is a great basic recipe where you can try different sauces, cheeses, fillings, or spices.
they use to feed this to us in school…i havent seen or had one in years..thanks
Like Heather, this takes me back to my childhood–the last time I had these! They look so cute and I would think, a great party treat, with dippings that everyone likes.
I haven’t had one of these in so many years and this is perfect for summer time. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I love easy recipes like this one during the summer when it’s too hot to spend too much time in the kitchen.
