The Cross at Groom Texas

June 16, 2015 by Classystaff

I have been lucky to travel a lot in my life. My family and I love to travel the US by car and stop to see sights along the way when we have time. My son grew up in the car, it seems, traveling back and forth to various states. Traveling across 1-40 in the Southwest has gotten a bit more interesting as there is a huge statement to the faith and dreams of one man arising from the quiet countryside near Amarillo, TX.

The Cross at Groom Texas

This huge cross is 19 stories tall and includes bronze sculptures that show the stations of the cross and the story of Jesus. We always make a point to stop. It is truly a sight to see!

I have never been to see this Cross, but I am curious about it and the stations. I shall see what information I can find about it. Thanks for the photo,

Wow what a picture. I can imagine how spectacular it must be to see in person. If I am ever out that way I would definitely make it a point to stop.

I haven’t heard about this cross, but I’d love to see it. It made me think about the Christ statue in Eureka Springs AR. It is the largest Christ statue in N. America. These magnificent landmarks really add to your travels.

I usually don’t get that far south when I travel cross country. It’s usually around Route 66, so I miss the Texas sites. This one looks worth the travel time to take in and visit.

Wow, I had not heard about the Cross at Groom Texas before reading about it here. I’m surprised that I never heard about a cross 19 stories tall before now. Thank you for sharing this post, I will definitely need to see this cross in person.
