Get Safer Pain Relief with Topical Analgesics

June 8, 2015 by Shelly

Salonpas Topical AnalgesicsI am a chronic pain sufferer. I have been suffering with pain since I was 15 years old and I am now almost 48 years old.  On some days it is very unbearable and on other days…it is tolerable. Suffering in pain is not fun and it can completely make your life miserable.

Reaching for OTC pills is not always the healthiest solution when it comes to dealing with temporary or chronic pain. A better solution for pain management awaits with the availability of topical analgesic products in the form of creams, gels, sprays and patches.

By putting the medicine right at the site of pain, bypassing the stomach and liver, Salonpas can use less medicine to deliver an effective dose. “When people self-medicate with over-the-counter oral pain pills, they can ingest inappropriate doses and run the risk of potential drug interactions, which can lead to unintended or unsuspected dangerous side effects, some of which can be as serious as liver failure or heart damage,” says Dr. Sylvia Hesse, a New York based orthopedic medicine specialist.

Recently I received several products from Salonpas which includes the Salonpas DEEP Relieving Gel, Salonpas Pain Relief Patch, Salonpas Pain Relieving GEL-Patch HOT-L, and Salonpas Pain Relieving Jet Spray.

One of the things I love about the Salonpas products is the fact that they are available in many different forms. There are gels, sprays, creams and patches. If you are on-the-go a lot and don’t have a lot of time to apply a product then go for the patches. If you love the feeling of sprays and creams on your body, you can use those!

Hubby and I suffer with chronic back pain. In addition, he suffers with chronic knee pain and I suffer with chronic hip pain following my total hip replacement that I had 2 years ago. Trust me, I know all about pain!!!!

Reaching for pills is easy. But along with that comes stomach upset, intestinal problems, etc. Getting an analgesic into your body by bypassing your GI tract is a wonderful thing!

Hubby has been using the Salonpas Patches on his back or his knee ever since we received the products. He loves that he sticks on the patch and goes about his day. They are great for temporary relief of sore muscles, sprains, backaches and joint pain. Each patch can give him relief for 8-12 hours so he doesn’t have to worry about popping pills throughout his day.

I’ve been enjoying the Salonpas Deep Relieving Gel which is a topical analgesic that lasts up to 8 hours. It contains 3 powerful pain fighting ingredients, it is fast-acting, fast-absorbing, clear and non-greasy. It is for ages 12 and up and can be applied 3-4 times a day.  I’ve been applying it to my lower back, hip, foot and shoulder and getting good relief.

We have used other topical analgesics over the years and hated them all. Many had foul odors that gassed you out for hours, stained your clothes or just weren’t effective at relieving our pain. Well, that has all changed now thanks to Salonpas and their fantastic products!
