Eating healthy can be a challenge especially when you are on the road or eating out and your food choices are limited. One of my favorite cuisines is Mexican so when I have the choice, I always try to choose that but it not always the best for those that are dieting or want healthier foods.

Making healthy choices and choosing wholesome food at a quick serve restaurant just got a bit easier with the new burrito from Del Taco. If you love avocado, you can now find delicious, creamy Haas avocado at the restaurant and add it to any of your foods.

New: Del Taco Epic Grilled Chicken Avocado Burrito

Del Taco, a leader in the Mexican Quick Service Restaurant category, is thrilled to offer guests yet another fresh ingredient at an UnFreshing Believable® value with the introduction of fresh Hass avocado. The new addition of fresh avocado is one of many exciting menu developments Del Taco has in store for 2015 as part of the company’s continued commitment to deliver fresh, quality and delicious ingredients. Del Taco has aligned with the California Avocado Commission to provide guests the opportunity to enjoy sliced avocado in the new Epic Grilled Chicken Avocado Burrito or add to any existing menu item.

New: Del Taco Epic Grilled Chicken Avocado Burrito

Available beginning on June 4, Del Taco’s new avocado menu additions include:

Epic Grilled Chicken Avocado Burrito: Loaded with six fresh slices of Hass avocado, freshly grilled chicken, handmade pico de gallo, fresca lime rice, seasoned black beans and salsa casera wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. Priced at $5.29.*

Add Fresh Avocado to Any Item: One or three slices of fresh Hass avocado. One slice priced at 30 cents, three slices for 90 cents.*

I was excited to be able to try this burrito out. This is a large burrito that is stuffed with filling whole foods like black beans, grilled chicken and rice. The flavor is mild and the pico de gallo and avocado adds the fresh flavor with a little kick. This is filling and a healthy choice for those that do not want fried foods. Yum!
