I have always been a huge fan of coloring books. It was a great way to pass the time during rainy days or long car rides while growing up. I believe it was one of the reasons why I enjoy art through drawing and painting today. I had recently heard that there are coloring books for adults! I was extremely thrilled to be able to review two coloring books from Adams Media.
I was sent The Art of Nature Coloring Book, and Stress Less Coloring: Mosaic Patterns. I loved the wonderful photos within The Art of Nature; This book has 60 vintage illustrations inspired from botanical and scientific prints. They are just lovely enough to hang on a wall with or without the coloring! What’s fantastic is that you actually can–each print has a perforated line to easily detach it from the book and have a straight edge! I loved it. It’s great to use even as a decor around the house.
I enjoyed Stress Less Coloring: Mosaic Patterns as well. There are over 100 patterns to choose from. Some are so elaborate and amazing! Some look like optical illusions, it is mesmerizing! I definitely felt myself get into a zen-like state when coloring within the mosaic patterns. I regained all my focus, instead of concentrating and stressing on future tasks. The book recommended blues, greens, and purples for more relaxation, which I did use. What is also great is that you can choose the color palettes to be whatever you want.
I do believe I have reawakened my inner child using these coloring books. It is very relaxing and reminds me of an easier time in childhood. It gets me completely nostalgic. I thoroughly enjoyed these books, I’ll have to get the other currently available books for the different patterns and images! There is such a variety, and there are several more forthcoming books to be released in September. I cannot wait to add them to my list!
You can purchase the The Art of Nature Coloring Book: 60 Illustrations Inspired by Vintage Botanical and Scientific Prints and the absolutely fantastic Stress Less Coloring – Mosaic Patterns: 100+ Coloring Pages for Peace and Relaxation directly from Amazon at a really great price! Both of these adult coloring books are fantastic!
