The new movie called “Black or White” starring Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer was just released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on May 5th, 2015.
Synopsis: Oscar® winners Kevin Costner* and Octavia Spencer** co-star in this touching comedy-drama based on real events. When two grandparents, Elliott (Costner) and Rowena (Spencer), engage in a heated custody dispute over their beloved granddaughter, the ensuing legal battle forces them to confront their true feelings on race and forgiveness. Can people from two seemingly different worlds find common ground when nothing is as simple as black or white?
My Thoughts: I’ve been a big fan of Kevin Costner’s works since the release of the movie Dances with Wolves (my favorite Costner movie) and over the years…he has grown to be one of the best male Hollywood actors who can pull off many different types of leading roles.
This movie starts out in a very dramatic fashion when he ends in a custody battle with his grand daughter’s grandmother played by Octavia Spencer. The movie takes a good hard look at race relations in this country and the disputes that can happen between families over child custody issues.
While the movie is dramatic, it does have a few little humorous points in it to break up all of the drama. The bond this grandchild has with both grandparents is deep and the acting is fantastic.
With all of the racial tensions going on right now in America, this movie will have everyone stopping to think about how they treat one another and how we all have the same feelings when it comes to our families. Overall, I give the movie a 7 out of 10 stars on my movie rating scale.

I do enjoy watching Kevin Costner act and this is a movie I wanted to see. Now I can get it to watch it at home.
I missed this one in the theaters so we are going to see it on dvd when it comes out because it sounds really good.

This sounds like a great film, especially considering the times. What I DO find shocking, is that Kevin Costner is playing a GRANDFATHER!! Where did the time go??
