We all love to save a buck or $20 and tell everyone we know all about it! Where I live, there is always tons of yard sales that happen every Friday – Sunday. While I am not a big yard sale visitor, I did happen to stop by one because my girlfriend just bought a new home and her bed will not fit in her small bedroom. This yard sale had some beautiful bed frames that looked new.
So I was wandering through and spied these gorgeous lampshades and they are becoming the feature for my first Fun Frugal Find post. Imagine my surprise when I found out that these perfect condition shades were only $5 – for both! I immediately grabbed them!
These are a silk like fabric in a fabulous wine red that is going to look awesome in my home. They are a bit bigger than a buffet table lamp shade so I need to start looking for the perfect base. Ohhh, I am so excited to see the outcome!
Share with us a fun frugal find that you got recently and let us know if you enjoy this new feature! ~ Chris
My daughter has a doll collection. We have been searching the 2nd hand stores and garage sales for a few ways to display them. Last fall sitting on the side of the road with a sign: FREE, we found a Plant stand, so hubby refinished it, and Now it looks like a VERY expensive piece of furniture, so beautiful. It cost us $17 for all of the material (stain, finish, and sandpaper) and about 15 hours of time. We use it as a small table with a small lamp and a frilly doily for the living room, as an accent piece.
I do like this new blog feature and am looking forward to seeing more of your finds.
I used to go to a lot of yard sales and always enjoyed finding a special item
I buy many of my holiday decorations from thrift stores. This last Christmas I got many lovely and in great shape nutcrackers.
I love the Fun Frugal Finds! I am a haunter of garage sales! My last prize was an old metal ashtray, apparently a souvenir of NYC (home!) because it featured the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building on it. What caught my eye, what was stamped on the back: Made in Occupied Japan. Whoa!
SCORE! I used to buy and sell antique jewelry! Sweet Find!
I love to see other people’s frugal finds. It’s snowing right now (and tomorrow) so no garage sales. I shop at thrift store often. (when will it be SPRING??)
Thats a great buy lampshades are expensive. I havent been to many sales lately, but I guess the last was when I got 4 cat carriers for 2 dollars each. I bleached them out and they are ready to fo. I do out of pocket rescue and I also always worryif there was an emergency that I would need carrierrs on hand for myself and for friends.
Great find!!
I hope you post pictures of the outcome. This is a great post idea. We are all looking to save some bucks and have those magic finds. It’s great when you find something at a reasonable price that inspires you. Happy Budget Shopping!
