Wedding Anniversary Celebrations

April 7, 2015 by Shelly

pink tulipsOn Sunday ~ April 12th my husband and I will be celebrating our 29th Wedding Anniversary. Yes, you read that right…our 29th anniversary!

I married my husband when I was only 18 years old and everyone preached to us that I was too young to get married and that our marriage would never last. Well, I guess we showed them because most of them have been married & divorced at least once! LOL

Every year we try to celebrate our anniversary by spending the entire day or weekend together, depending on which day of the week our special day falls on. Luckily this year it falls on a weekend so we will be spending the entire weekend together.

Next year for our 30th Wedding Anniversary we will be taking a Caribbean Cruise for 10 glorious days! We booked our cruise already and are counting down the days until we leave which will be May 2016.

Since we will be celebrating in grand style next year we are keeping this one on the down-low by just spending a romantic weekend together in a honeymoon suite down in Lancaster County PA. It should be fun and I am really looking forward to it.

Do you celebrate your anniversaries every year? Do you make it special and try to go away for a weekend or do you just do a romantic dinner for two? What do you like to do for that special day?

Happy anniversary! I love hearing stories about people still being in love after many, many years. My husband and I married relatively young (especially compared to most people nowadays), but we’ve been happily married for almost nine years. I figure I just got to spend more time with my soul mate by getting married young. 😉 Congratulations, hope you enjoy your special day!

Happy anniversary! Your “down low” sounds like a big-time celebration to me. I hope you have a wonderful time. We usually mark our anniversary by spending some time together and going out for a nice dinner. Low-key but nice.

Congrats! May you enjoy at least 29 more!! We usually forget that it is our anniversary but then a few weeks later we remember that we forgot and then go out to dinner. This year will be 33 years.

Congratulations! How exciting and something to be celebrated. You obviously work at and care about your marriage, and you deserve to be proud and celebrate. What fun next year will be, but this year is important, too. I am glad you are having a romantic weekend together. My husband and I are like you – married very young and have been together 40 years. We go out to eat often but go somewhere nice on our anniversary. We dress up nicer than our everyday but still very casual and have a nice relaxing dinner together. Happy Anniversary! Enjoy every moment of it!
