Tuna Salad Recipe

April 23, 2015 by Classystaff

I have a confession. I am not a big seafood or fish eater. I have been ill on seafood several times in my life and it is hard for me to even be in the same room when it is prepared. There are a few exceptions and for those that love seafood and fish, tuna from a can is probably not a first choice. But occasionally I will eat it and when I do, I love to eat it almost like a tuna melt. No haters on how I make it… remember, I have to bury a lot of the tuna flavor… LOL

So, here is my fast and easy recipe for Tuna Salad.

Fast Tuna Salad Recipe

Fast Tuna Salad Recipe

1 can of Tuna in Water – drained well
1 stalk of celery, chopped fine
2 -3 TBSP of Miracle Whip
Favorite Bread, toasted
2 Sliced of Cheddar Cheese – I love Tillamook

Directions: Drain your tuna and place it in a small bowl. Add in the celery and Miracle Whip. Mix well. Load it onto your bread and add the cheese. If the bread is hot out of the toaster, it is better!

I love the crunch of the celery and the creamy tuna. I do not add any seasonings so that the ingredients speak for themselves.

Love tuna salad but opt for celery salt instead of whole celery.

Simple is great. I think some avocado would be nice.

for some reason I have ever added cheese to my tuna fish salad sandwich and I want to try it next time. If I am in a rush I will add dried minced onion instead of cutting up celery.

I’ve never cared for Miracle Whip but find a plain Greek yogurt can be a good sub. Sounds good for a weekend lunch.

I don’t do celery. I add chopped hard boiled eggs, a little finely chopped onion, a few sliced seedless grapes, lettuce and sliced tomato! YUM

I love tuna salad. I usually add chopped onion & chopped boiled egg, too. In addition to making sandwiches, I like to put a little on green salad in place of dressing.

Like the idea of a tuna melt. I put celery in my chicken salad and tuna salad sandwiches. Gives it some flavor and crunch.

this sounds good! there is certain seafood I can’t eat because I had it before I got seasick, and now many years later, I still can’t! I haven’t tried “chick pea” tuna yet, but I might like to try a “tuna” dish like this with it!

I really like Miracle Whip in this recipe because it gives it a nice tang-also celery with tuna is so good! I have to make this fun easy sandwich!

Looks quick and easy! Tuna has always been a favorite of mine, and always with cheese. (Cheese makes everything better!). I like the zing of the Miracle Whip here in your recipe instead of plain old mayo. The only change I would make is to add a little onion, chopped fine to the salad. Voila!

I like all kinds of fish. I eat tuna about twice a month usually in a sandwich like this.

This is a very simple recipe, I don’t usually put celery in my tuna salad and I use mayonnaise instead of Miracle Whip. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Sounds like a great sandwich! We use tuna for emergencies so it is usually tuna/mayo sandwiches or tuna casserole.

Sorry to hear about your bad seafood experiences. I love to have it when visiting my son in Florida. Tuna is easy to make, in portable containers and pouches, and good for you. If you need to bury it in mayo and cheese to enjoy it, go for it. You’re making it. I like to have tuna sandwiches sometimes, but I’m not much of a tuna person. Cheese is a great way to do it. My daughter likes it with Swiss.
