I am a huge fan of tea. I drink only tea and water 99% of the time. So because I that, I am kind of particular as to how my tea tastes. While Sun Tea offers a great flavor, most of the time waiting for it to be finished is not something I can do. I brew my tea which offers me the availability to drink it sooner than later and create amazing tea flavors too.
This is an easy recipe that you can use anytime to get smooth and never bitter tea. You and your family will be addicted – just like my family is. This recipe makes 1 gallon and you can use any flavor tea you choose. I have experimented a lot and I prefer a blend of regular black or green tea with a touch of flavor from an herbal tea – usually mango. So refreshing!
Easy Peach Iced Tea Recipe
4 Bags of Black or Green Tea
3 Bags of Peach or Mango Herbal Tea
Ice
Pure Water
Directions: In a 2 to 3 quart saucepan, fill with water. Add your tea bags and heat it until just before the boiling point. It is important to NOT boil the tea as that will cause bitterness. Just as the water starts to steam and right before boiling, turn off the heat and allow it to steep for a minute or two. Remove the tea bags and allow to cool.
In a gallon pitcher, add some Ice and some water to start. Pour in the tea and fill with more water and ice. Serve and enjoy!

this sounds super – you always have the best of everything. I keep cool drinks in the refrigerator, I haven’t tried iced tea yet, but this recipe has me wanting to run home now and make it asap!
Ice tea is a must for me in the fridge in the spring and summer, the Green Tea with the Peach or Mango Herbal Tea sounds amazingly refreshing.
Love tea, will have to try the different flavors with some green tea. Usually just use Lousianne tea in my Mr. tea maker.
Thanks for the receipe love tea
I would love to try this with mango herbal tea
(Delicious and Easy Iced Tea Recipe) I am going to pass this recipe on to my brother, he drinks a lot of iced tea during the summer months. So I know that he will like this one.
I’ve never brewed tea by heating the water with the tea bags in the water–I’ve always poured the hot water over the bags. Interesting! I’ll have to give this method a try. Thanks.
Good recipe. During growing season I’ll add fresh mint from my garden.
Thanks for the recipe, we moved to the South and I didn’t perfect the art of making ice tea yet
I make iced tea all year and I usually combine black, green and herbal flavor, so I shall add this recipe to my repertoire. I almost always add fresh lemon juice to my tea.
Sounds good! And it is almost iced tea time, finally!
Yep, we love our iced tea here in KY. I love peach iced tea the most. I remember my grandmother making ‘sun tea’ in the Summer: you just drop the tea bags into a big jar of cool water, let it set in the sun for hours & you have ‘brewed tea.’ (Cover the jar, lol, so you don’t get bug tea!)
I use a mix of black and herbal teas especially in the summer. I use my sun tea container and put it out in the morning and its usually ready by lunchtime. Fun to experiment with different flavors.
I mix my teas all the time and find green tea goes with everything but sometimes the black teas can overpower some of the subtle fruit teas.
What a great idea. I drink green tea every day and it never occurred to me to mix in tea of a different flavor. I am definitely going to give this a try. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
I drink iced tea every single day and I am always on the look out for a new recipe thanks for sharing this one. I have to try the mango especially for summer.
When I was a kid we used to drink Sun Tea. We always seemed to have that glass jug sitting in the backyard brewing tea. I am sure there is some reason for doing it that way, but as a kid I didn’t notice any difference.
Tea is good. i will give it a try.
