AFTER Ever Happy by Anna Todd Book Review

Can it really be the end to this series? I have been captivated, annoyed and happy while reading this and when all is said and done, I would read it all again! Check out my thoughts on the final AFTER book.

Tessa and Hardin have defied all the odds, but will their fairy tale ending be turned on its head? After Ever Happy…Life will never be the same. #HESSA

It’s never been all rainbows and sunshine for Tessa and Hardin, but each new challenge they’ve faced has only made their passionate bond stronger and stronger. But when a revelation about the past shakes Hardin’s inpenetrable façade to the core—and then Tessa suffers a tragedy—will they stick together again, or be torn apart?

As the shocking truth about each of their families emerges, it’s clear the two lovers are not so different from each other. Tessa is no longer the sweet, simple, good girl she was when she met Hardin—any more than he is the cruel, moody boy she fell so hard for. Tessa understands all the troubling emotions brewing beneath Hardin’s exterior, and she knows she’s the only one who can calm him when he erupts. He needs her.

But the more layers of his past come to light, the darker he grows, and the harder he pushes Tessa—and everyone else in his life—away. Tessa’s not sure if she really can save him—not without sacrificing herself. She refuses to go down without a fight. But who is she fighting for—Hardin or herself?

My ThoughtsMy feeling about this series have always been wishy washy. In many ways I have been crazy about the ups and downs of the story line. You feel like you are riding a rollercoaster that you love and hate at the same time. This the last of the story for these 2 and I am happy and sad once again.

In this installment they have grown up so much and are learning how to deal with one another, life and their feelings. I have to say I love the man that Hardin finally became. It took a lot of work on his part but he finally realized what was important to him. Tessa; she was the one that made me nuts in the end. I can appreciate what she was looking for in her life, but give the man a break. Geez.

I have to say, I hated the ending. It felt rushed in many ways and while I am glad that they finally pulled through all of the crap, so much time was lost too. That is what annoyed me the most.

However then ending occurred, my overall feeling for this book was good. I was anxious to see how they finally fit together and sad when I closed the book for the last time. Such it is when you read something that touches you somewhere inside. I said it before, and I will mention it again – The true mark of a good author is when they leave you with a great memory – whatever that feeling may be. I hope that Anna Todd finds another story to tell. I really enjoyed her writing.
