Weight Watchers Cereals are Good Source of Protein and Fiber

February 15, 2015 by Shelly

Weight Watchers CerealsI start my day between 5 AM and 6 AM almost every day of the week. Yes, I am an early riser and I rarely get to sleep in. Once I am out of bed, I quickly get dressed and head into the kitchen to fix some coffee and to grab a quick bite to eat. Rarely do I fire up the stove and cook a labor-intensive breakfast that early in the morning. I mean really, who has the time for that at 5 Am? Not me!

Often times I go for a good breakfast cereal and a piece of fresh fruit to enjoy right along with my cup of coffee. What do you typically enjoy for breakfast?

Two of the breakfast cereals that I’ve been enjoying the past week are both from Weight Watchers. One is the Weight Watchers Frosted Shredded Wheat with Protein and the other is the Weight Watchers Oat Clusters with Cherries & Almonds. Have you ever tried them?

frosted shredded wheat

The new Weight Watchers Frosted Shredded Wheat has 6g of protein, 5g of fiber and 40g whole grains per serving. If you are counting calories, its 210 calories per serving and 5 pointsplus value on the Weight Watchers points system.

The new Weight Watchers Oat Clusters with Cherries & Almonds has 8 essential vitamins & minerals, naturally low in fat (0g. saturated fat), 130mg sodium and is only 120 calories per serving. It has a 3 pointsplus value on the Weight Watchers point system.

Now let’s face it…there are cereals that are sweetened galore for the kids (not needed) and then there are healthier choices for us adults. Frankly, I think every age should eat the healthier choices but that’s just my opinion. These Weight Watcher cereals are definitely better for you and are certainly geared towards adults but kids should be eating them too!

Both cereals have a really nice, flavorful taste to them. Not under-sweetened or over-sweetened at all. Just right. I think they both have a nice texture and crunch factor with each of them. I appreciate that they are not a soggy mess two minutes after I add my milk.

Weight Watchers Cereals
My husband has been enjoying taste-testing both cereals right along with me. I prefer the Frosted Shredded Wheat and he prefers the Oat Clusters with Cherries & Almonds. Both are delicious in my book but if I had to choose a personal favorite, it would be the Frosted Shredded Wheat.

You can learn more about this new line of Weight Watchers Cereals by visiting their online website.

Weight Watchers now has their own line of cereals, I guess it was just a matter of time. The cereals are high in protein and fiber, I’m sure that if and when they become available in stores they will be a big hit. Thank you for sharing this review.

Glad that last and taste good. We are always looking for healthier products, fiber for me and protein for my daughter. I’m glad that more and more are coming out. Cereal is my breakfast go-to, and it will be nice to have a flavorful, fiber option.
