How to Protect Your Hair from Heat Damage

Often the beautiful hair styles that we admire and want to have for ourselves requires some type of styling tool. With the huge amount of style tool options out there, many women use more than one tool to create their hair style. Different sizes of flat irons, curling irons in different sizes, heat rollers and hair dryers are all a part of our arsenal that helps create the looks we love!

One problem that is becoming an issue is the damage to otherwise healthy hair from the tools. The high heat the tools use suck the moisture out of you hair, leaving it dry, dull, and damaged. Lifeless and crunchy hair is not an option! But with the proper protection, your hair can stand up to the abuse!

Thankfully, there are methods you can use during styling and products that are on the market that work specifically to repair and protect dry, heat damaged hair.
How to Protect Your Hair From Heat Damage CHI Iron Guard

Here are some tips to protect your hair from excessive heat damage

1) Make sure the styling tools you use are quality products. Look for adjustable heat features so you can control the heat on your hair. In flat irons and curling irons, look for ceramic plates and rods that distribute the heat all the way across. Also, in dryers, the ionic dryers are must faster at drying your hair, reducing the amount of heat your hair endures.

2) Use a quality styling product that will protect your hair. Heat protectants, like the CHI 44 Iron Guard, is made to lock in the moisture and cut the friction the tool will produce as it runs through your hair – especially flat irons and curling irons.

3) Apply a thermal protectant before drying your hair too. Towel dry your hair and apply the thermal guard, as directed. Comb through the product and dry your hair in sections. Want more volume? 4) Treat your dry hair with wonderful conditioners. Damaged and abused hair needs moisture added back in to remain soft and touchable. Lorena Garcia, Farouk Systems Creative Artist, forecasts braids will be incorporated into many red carpet styles. These will include all types of braided looks — tight, loose or messy, enlivened by adding an accessory. Along with braids Lorena states,

“waves will also dominate the award ceremonies-but will be sleek waves — nothing messy, as well as straight sleek looks, combed straight back or with a down the center part.”

To achieve these looks, Lorena recommends prepping the hair with CHI Iron Guard Thermal Protection Spray as it helps protect the hair against thermal styling heat. I got to try out three CHI products and they are rocking. My favorite is the CHI Volume Booster. I love a lot of volume in my hair and this does the trick without greasy after effects! Simply spray on damp hair and style or blow dry. Nice!

    I’d absolutely love to win these products to be sure they will work as I’d like them to before beginning investing in them because I am a 55 year old divorcee in school and can’t afford to purchase products without being able to use them. I color my hair and it is dry and it has thinned the past few years and can use any help with volume that I can get, without the drying affect that some products create. I definitely don’t like using conditioners that weigh my hair down so much that I can’t get it to hold curl. I use a hair dryer and usually stick with velcro hot rollers but even those aren’t good for your hair, I know.Thank you for your giveaway.
