Family Movie Night: Horse Camp
I have two daughters, Sophia who is 10 years old, and Erica who is 3 ½ years old. Like many young girls, my girls love horses and movies, so this new release is a perfect combination and made for a fun night of viewing! They will be watching the movie Horse Camp with me and adding input for my review!
The main stars are Miss Katy, played by Annelyse Ahmad; Luke, played by Dean Cain; Stacy, played by Kristin Ryda; Kathy, played by Jordan Trovillion; and Lisa, played by Rachel Sowers. The movie is rated PG. It is very family friendly and suitable for all ages to watch. Running time is 103 minutes. The genre of Horse Camp is adventure.
This is a story about a group of teenage girls spending the summer at a horse camp. The main character, Kathy, loves horses and always wanted to ride them. Kathy’s father, Luke, had an accident years ago while bull riding and now is skeptical of Kathy wanting to horseback ride. Her mother will not allow her to ride either because of her father’s accident. Kathy is a bit shy, so her dad wants to send her to camp for the summer so she can open up, feel more confident, and make some friends.
Her parents were having some trouble finding the right camp for her, then Kathy found information about a horse camp and they agreed to let her go and try it out. When Kathy arrives at the horse camp she meets a new friend and her name is Lisa. Lisa shows Kathy around the horse camp. She also helps Kathy with her self esteem by showing Kathy how to dress cool and stylish, and use makeup.
Kathy then feels really good about herself and gains confidence. She actually turns into a bit of a snob, just like the girls who have put her down in the past! This movie teaches an important point, about how beauty is on the inside and not about how we appear on the outside.
I highly recommend this movie for pre teen girls. My girls enjoyed it and together we had a fun evening. I hope everyone will watch this movie! It is just right for a family movie night and great for the kids to watch over and over.
