Thoughts about Manduka’s eKO Lite Mat
I absolutely LOVE yoga. I take yoga classes at the nearby yoga studio in Linglestown (Yoga Nature) and occasionally pop in a yoga DVD at home to review what I learned in class and sometimes “sweat” during the process. The yoga mat that I used before Manduka was cheaply made and awful on the yoga studio’s floor. It slid EVERYWHERE, making it near impossible to keep my balance as I performed each pose. I’ve only used my Manduka eKO Lite mat a few times, and can already see a major difference! As soon as I took the mat out of the wrapper, I could instantly feel the tight grip of the mat. And the grip held true during my whole entire 85 minute yoga class.
My old yoga mat was incredibly thin, but what do you expect from a $15 mat. During my yoga classes and at-home workouts, my hands, knees and back ached from using my cheaply made mat. Since getting the Manduka eKO Lite mat, the aches and pains have greatly diminished. I’m not a perfect yoga student; I still have issues with balancing, but with the correct balance, I have no pain at all in my body.
You may have an issue with the price of the eKO Lite mat, 4mm priced at $64, but if you are serious about including yoga into your daily or weekly routine, then I recommend spending a little bit more money on a good quality mat. Already have a yoga mat? Manduka offers a wide variety of performance towels, bags, props and accessories. Surely you’ll find something you love. Something to note: Manduka offers free shipping on orders over $125. So for those of you who love yoga, I highly recommend Manduka’s products. I love my mat to pieces, and am excited that I get to use it anytime I have yoga class or workout at home!

The Manduka eKO Lite mat sounds great, I really need a new yoga mat myself. Thank you for sharing this review.
I agree that the price is a little high, but worth it if you are not getting any aches or pains which happened using a thin mat.
I have used terrribly thin mays and am glad to hear there is another choice out theere.. I like how you describe this one and how much better it seems to be. I will have to look into this brand.
