Homemade soups are the perfect meal or side dish during this time of the year when the weather outside is freezing & all you want is something warm and filling in your belly.
I am a huge soup lover and eat it all year long. During the cold winter months I look for recipes that are easy-to-prepare and filling. A good recipe doesn’t have to take all day to make and a gazillion ingredients to make it.
Over the years we’ve shared many recipes here on the Two Classy Chics blog and today, I picked out 6 of our favorites. You can click on the link for each one and go print out the recipe and make it today.
* Ham & Potato Chowder Soup – A quick and easy recipe to use up some of your leftover holiday ham.
* Poached Mozzarella & Tomato Soup – I love a good homemade tomato soup especially this particular one which is delicious over grilled curry bread.
* Potato, Bacon and Cheese Soup – I am a big fan of anything that contains potatoes, bacon and cheese so this soup is the perfect marriage of all three!
* Easy Split Pea Soup – If you love split pea but don’t like complicated recipes, then Chris’ recipe is just for you!
* Classic Chicken Corn Soup – I grew up eating a lot of homemade corn soup over the years thanks to my family always having a large backyard garden. When I eat this soup, I enjoy a good old-fashioned classic recipe like this one.
* Hearty Chicken Noodle Soup – Nadine’s recipe is a cross between a good old-fashion chicken noodle soup and a chicken potpie. Definitely looks delicious!

We had soup for dinner tonight! I made a nice, creamy soup with onions, carrots, and potatoes, using chicken stock I made a few days ago, and gently flavored with some thyme I have growing in a south-facing window. You can’t go wrong with a good chicken noodle. Soups are good all year round but especially nice in the winter. I love letting them simmer in the crock pot all day and enjoying a warm bowl as the cold air blows around the house. Right now with so many places getting lots of cold and snow, this is a great post. Thanks.
