We all know that walking has so many health benefits but did you also know that walking can improve your skin too? It is a fact and there are many benefits to walking that can affect a healthy skin glow. Check out these additional benefits that walking brings.
Get Healthier Skin Through Walking
* Walking helps to increase blood flow all over the body and that increased blood flow helps your skin to repair itself from damage.
* Natural sunlight (make sure you use sunscreen) can help to add a natural glow to your skin, so if you are looking for a natural, sun-kissed glow, get outside and enjoy a little walk.
* Walking and physical exercise can help you to sleep better at night which reduces under-eye puffiness, redness and dark circles.
* While walking try some facial exercises to help tone up your skin and to help prevent wrinkles of the face). To help tone up body skin try walking briskly while pumping your arms back & forth or walk with hand weights.
* Walking and physical exercise increase your body’s natural endorphins which can speed up healing, decrease pain, improve your mood, etc. It can help you to clear your mind and focus on tasks at-hand after physical activity has finished.
* Due to getting exercise, even walking, you will be inclined to replenish your body with water which is one of the most beneficial things you can do to improve your skin’s health & appearance.
Make sure to wear comfortable clothing, proper footwear, use sunscreen and drink plenty of water during your workout. Remember to “warm up” and “cool down” after any physical activity so you feel great all day! Can’t get outside? Try a treadmill or a walking dvd to inspire you! Enjoy the improved health and skin tone with your walks.

Thanks for the informative article. I had no idea walking had added benefits, like healing, helping my skin, and reducing wrinkles and puffy eyes.
IMy resolution this year was to exercise more – mainly by walking and I did not know that this would have the additional benefit of helping my skin and reducing wrinkles. That gives me more incentive!
My resolution for the year is to get outside and walk everyday. I do find that I feel so much better when I do this.
Walking is a great inexpensive low impact form of exercise. If you can’t do anything else, go outside and take a walk. Thank you for sharing this post.
There are some really great tips listed here! We all could use a little nudge to get up and get moving! AT least here in this house!
Walking really is a great exercise. Most of us can do it and you don’t have to have any special equipment. You can go at your own pace and make it as challenging or easy as your level needs. I am hoping to get into a walking routine this year. I hadn’t thought about added skin benefits, a bonus.
Years ago I was a runner… nothing against running but walking I enjoy much more. You have to go a bit further for the calorie burn, but the dog doesnt mind and he gets to go. I hadnt thought about facia exercises while walking but maybe I will try that too.
When I walk briskly I really try to extend and get the backs of my legs–which jogging never does for me. That tightens up the skin on my legs in no time.
I consider walking to be the almost perfect form of exercise. Much better for you than running.
