Count Down the Days ’til Christmas with a 3D Printer

January 9, 2015 by Shelly

Every year, doesn’t it seem like stores are promoting their holiday sales earlier and earlier in the season? The spirit of this cheerful time shouldn’t be so forced. Homemade, 3D-printed goods are an excellent way to count the days ’til Christmas, but in style. With a 3D advent calendar, your children can open a small box with a gift inside.

Starting December 1st, each day corresponds to a different themed trinket, including a toy train, igloo, gingerbread man, and star. As your kids open the boxes leading up to Christmas morning, the containers can also attach to each other to form a Christmas tree. This is just one thoughtful creation that harnesses the power of 3D printing technology, and the possibilities are truly endless. Below, you’ll find more information about the advent calendar and nine other holiday designs that are sure to make this season a festive one.

Comments from my iPad don’t seem to be working. I think that a 3D printer is a marvelous invention and shall have to consider it for next year.

This sounds very interesting and maybe I shall buy one for next year. I shall wait to see what further improvement and innovations are made. There is always something new being added to printers.

Are we already thinking about next year!? I’ve bought on some after-Christmas sales for next year but not ready to think about it really. 3D printing amazes and confuses me. The technology worries me some…not sure I want to eat food printed, but that tree and those characters are really cute.

I like texhy things and so does mt husand. I dont think 3D printers are within reach of the average person, but soon they will be. Remember back when cell phones or computers came out? So expensive but nowdays almost anyone has acess.
I think one of the coolest things they are doing with the printers is prosthetics. I saw kids getting hands and there was a wg who got front legs.

I barely can keep up with supplying my current printer with black ink. These are pretty incredible and wish I had the time to play with them.

Oh my. A 3D printer would be AWESOME! These ideas would be super fun, but I can come up with a million more. Super fun.
