Sons of Anarchy Bratva by Christopher Golden on Audio CD

My household members are big Sons of Anarchy fans so when the audio CD for this book showed up for review, there was a bit of argument on who got to listen to this first. We are all excited to be able to checkout this book which is an extension to the television series that, unfortunately for the fans, just ended. So sad but we can re-live it again with the books.

Synopsis:
Set between the third and fourth season of the groundbreaking television drama Sons of Anarchy, from the mind of Executive Producer Kurt Sutter…

With half of the club recently released from Stockton State Penitentiary, and the Galindo drug cartel bringing down heat at every turn, the MC already has its hands full. Yet Jax Teller the V.P. of SAMCRO has another problem to deal with. He just learned that his Irish half-sister Trinity has been in the U.S. for months entangled with Russian BRATVA gangsters. Now that she’s abruptly gone missing, he’s sure the brewing mafia war is connected to her disappearance. Jax heads to Nevada with Chibs and Opie to search for her and seek revenge. Trinity may be half-Irish, but she’s also half-Teller and where Teller’s go, trouble follows.

My Thoughts:
For those of you that follow the series on television, this book can be considered a fill-in to some of the activities that you have seen on TV. However, in many places it does not fit perfectly which can be a distraction for some. For those that have been living vicariously through the books, this is a great installment that is entertaining and enlightening to the overall storyline.

Told in different points of view, the author has developed several characters that you just briefly have seen on the TV show. If you try and compare it to the show, it can be confusing, but if you take this book at its face value, it is an entertaining read that is meant to develop your knowledge of the cast of characters in SAMCRO.

The author did a fabulous job crafting this story and I love the voice of the reader, Peter Berkrot, who adds in accents where needed and really bring the depth of the characters to life. You get a wonderful understanding of the characters when you can hear and read about them rather than try and fit everything into a one hour show.

This book is full of the dark drama we love from the cast of bad boys and girls but it also contains humor, plenty of suspense and intense situations that get a bit hardcore. But if you are addicted to the series, checking out this book will add so much depth to the overall storyline. It is a something that a SOA fan will enjoy greatly.
