Track Your Progress with the Taylor Bluetooth Body Fat Smart Scale

It’s my favorite time of year—the leaves are falling, the air is crisp, delicious fall-inspired coffees are in every coffee shop (Pumpkin Spice, anyone?) and the food fest begins. Fortunately for me, I’ve really been watching my weight–quite literally—with a brand new Taylor Bluetooth Body Fat Smart Scale. I was lucky enough to be one of the first reviewers of this innovative and truly unique scale and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you.

The Taylor Bluetooth Body Fat Smart Scale was developed by EatSmart Products, in partnership with Taylor Precision Products. The sleek, modern looking scale has been a great addition to my bedroom—I’ve actually got it set up right by my closet to keep me in check.

The scale transmits data via Bluetooth 4.0 for both iOS and Android devices and allows you to share your data via email, Twitter or Facebook. While I’m not quite ready to shout my weight from the mountaintops (or to my hundreds of Facebook friends), I have been doing a daily weigh in and love how the scale wirelessly transfers and tracks my weight to my mobile phone every time I step on it. It was so easy to set up too. I simply downloaded the SmarTrack application to my iPhone, registered it, input my goal weight, set up my personal profile number on the scale (my husband is using it too) and all of the information on my scale could now be viewed on my phone. The scale even knows which profile is which just by the weight of the person on the scale. That’s pretty cool.

The only downside was that the scale doesn’t have a lighted panel. It can be tough to read it in low lighting and I’m usually stepping on it first thing in the morning when it’s not super bright in the room.

This scale has been really motivating to me. Something about seeing your weight loss trending down on your phone helps visualize the end-goal! In addition to weight, the scale also tracks and transmits body fat, body water and muscle mass.

Some of the other key features of this scale include:
• Data stored in the cloud so even when upgrading phones, you don’t lose your information
• Taylor’s free SmarTrack app (as I did) or transmit data to your favorite fitness app such as MapMyFitness or RunKeeper
• Cal-Max technology estimates daily calories needed to maintain your current weight based on your personal information
• Athlete mode and goal tracking feature to track all stats every time you step onto the scale
• 400 lb. capacity in 0.2 lb increments (lb/kg)
• Stores personal profiles for up to 8 users

The scale is available for $59.95, which I think is a great price. The scale does SO much more than the average scale. With the holidays quickly approaching, this seems like a great family gift to buy. Fitness and health should be a priority for everyone and having this type of tool around can definitely help keep a healthy lifestyle front and center. The scale is available at Amazon.
