Mini Blueberry Turnovers Recipe

November 27, 2014 by Classystaff

A few weeks ago I shared an easy Mini Fruit Pie recipe and today I want to share a similar recipe that my husband made but in a turnover instead.

My hubby definitely has a sweet tooth when it comes to fruit pies and making a full pie always goes to waste. Here is an easy alternative that you can whip up any time with just a few simple ingredients you probably have in the pantry now that it is the holiday season. These would even make a fun treat for a neighbor.

Mini Blueberry Turnovers Recipe

Ingredients:
1 Can of Blueberry Filling
1 Sheet of Rolled Dough
Sugar

Directions: Using a 2″ or 3″ glass or biscuit cutter, cut out rounds of the dough and lay them on a baking sheet covered with parchment or a silicone baking mat. Using a spoon, place a small dollop of filling into the center. Fold over and lightly seal the half rounds with the tines of a fork.. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with sugar immediately after removing from the oven.

The 2″ size make a small 2 bite turnover. The 3″ size are great for 3-4 bites. So good and light. Enjoy!

These look delicious and easy to make , but I would probably add some more blueberries to the filling mix to have more fruit and less sugar.

Look fancy and delicious while being super easy. Love it! I like that you could change up the flavors, too, or combine things to make your own flavoring. The sugar on top adds the finishing touch.

Generally, I don’t buy prepared pie fillings, but with these quick and simple recipes you’ve been posting, I’m thinking I should pick up a can or two to have on the shelf for times when I need a no-fuss dessert. Thanks for the idea–and please thank your husband for me, too.
