How to Make Extra Money for Christmas

October 28, 2014 by Shelly

christmas gifts under the treeGathering the cash for Christmas can seem as if it is a daunting task. The holidays are creeping up on consumers, and some of them are scrambling for moneymaking ideas. The following are some suggestions for gathering just enough funds to put a smile on the faces of many relatives:

Part-Time Seasonal Positions

Many retail establishments hire people right before the holiday season. These seasonal employees may conduct work such as stock replenishment, cashiering or customer service. An employed person can obtain a seasonal position to supplement his or her regular income so that holiday funding is available. Seasonal positions usually do not require a person to have an extensive amount of experience, and the hiring process can be abrupt.

Online Work

People who are looking for holiday cash can obtain some quick work-from-home positions that have very little overhead and fast payment methods. Freelance writing is one idea for a work-from-home job. A multitude of companies has ghostwriting work available. Web design work is an option for a person who has a knack for HTML coding and website construction. Some companies offer online customer service positions, as well. The positions have minimum requirements such as a reliable Internet connection and a headset to communicate with customers who have questions.

Holiday Childcare & Babysitting

A lot of parents are looking for extra-free time during the holiday season. They have holiday and corporate parties to attend, Christmas shopping to do and a whole host of other things. Offer up childcare and babysitting servings to parents throughout the holiday season.

Odd Jobs

A multitude of odd jobs is available for people who have certain skills. Examples of odd jobs that can bring holiday funds are babysitting, house sitting, tutoring, pluming work, snow shoveling, house cleaning and more. Consumers will be amazed at the funds they can gather by reading the classified ads or placing flyers throughout the community.

Time still exists for families to gather the funds they need to place smiles on the faces of their friends and family members. A person can choose one or several of the aforementioned methods to obtain funding for holiday shopping.

I think we all can use some extra cash always but especially this time of year. Between travel, gifts, and extra cost of heating, it’s nice to have a side job….even better if it’s something you enjoy. I’ve seen a lot of seasonal positions open. I like the idea of work at home and ghost writing. I will have to check into that.
