Preserving Memories With a Custom Photo Book

September 12, 2014 by Classystaff

Having plenty of photos of the people and places you love is important. With everything going digital, preserving memories that you can see anytime is changing too. Photo books have come a long way in terms of quality and finish. I was excited to be able to check out some photo books for review from a company that has been entrusted with digital memories for years.

Collage.com is a site that allows you to upload any of your favorite images and have them transformed into beautiful display pieces, wall art, calendars and much more. I was excited to be able to try out the system and create 2 different One-Click photo books – one soft cover and one hard cover.

The site is pretty easy to use, once I figured it out. You create an account and choose a project. Once you have chosen what you want to create, you them start uploading your images to their site. The system uploaded them pretty quickly and allows you to move them around and adjust the layout. It walked me through the whole process and it went really quickly actually. The hardest part was uploading the images so it was super simple.

I created the soft bound book first. It is an 8″x 6″ booklet that allows you to add between 20-500 photos! This is perfect for gift giving and an affordable option! I decided to use images from the professional photographer I hired to take pictures for my son’s high school graduation in June. I also added a few pictures from his senior prom and a picture of him in his cap and gown for a complete graduation book. I also created the hard bound book from the same images.

The soft bound book is great and the quality of the paper is wonderful. It has a glossy quality to it and the resolution of the photos came out pretty well. I love the hard bound book. For me it has a more substantial feel to it and the size is great. It measures 11.5″ x 8.5″ and also with this you can include up to 500 images. I am going to giving these as gifts this year to the grandparents with these pictures in them. I love it.
