Homegrown Collective – Monthly Green Subscription Box

September 18, 2014 by Shelly

Homegrown Collective - Monthly Green Subscription BoxI love monthly subscription boxes and these days, you can find hundreds of different ones available via the internet. These types of boxes are great for you to enjoy or you can buy them (subscribe to them) to give as a gift…a gift that keeps on giving!

Recently I had the chance to check out one of these services from Homegrown Collective which focuses on “green” boxes to help you live a more self-sufficient & sustainable lifestyle.

Each month you get a new subscription box that features items that were specially prepared for you. A lot of thought goes into each box and you will find only the best-of-the-best products in them.

For the month of September they featured a “The Beauty of Coconut Oil” subscription box. The box included: coconut oil, lemon citrus essential oil, peppermint essential oil, beeswax, a glass mason jar, sodium bicarbonate, maize starch, sea salt, sweet almond oil, 2 lip balm tubes, a deodorant tube and shea butter. Everything was beautifully packaged inside a sturdy storage box.

Making the Lip Balms

Once you open up the box there is a sheet of paper that explains the box to you and gives you information on the products and what you are to do with them. This box will teach you how to make your own coconut oil lip balm, coconut deodorant and coconut toothpaste. Each project comes with an instruction sheet and step-by-step directions.

In just a few hours I was able to whip up the coconut toothpaste, the coconut deodorant and 2 tubes of the lip balm. I still have supplies leftover to make more goodies once I use these up.

I was totally surprised at how easy it is to make your own natural lip balms, deodorants and toothpaste! I mean really, who knew? If I had none this sooner, trust me…I would of been making my own a long time ago.

What is really cool is that I don’t have to run all over the internet or from store-to-store trying to find the ingredients and supplies that I would need to make them because everything arrived in this one handy dandy kit!

Homegrown Collective would make a great holiday gift for someone who loves DIY projects, beauty products, natural products or just subscribe for yourself. For the person who has everything and you don’t know what to get them…well, you just found the perfect gift!

Head on over to Homegrown Collective and take a look around. You can learn more about the company and their subscription boxes when you visit their site online. I really…really…REALLY loved this one!!!

This monthly subscription box is different because it teaches you how to make your own green products. I like that idea. The coconut oil theme is very fashionable right now.

How fun and useful! There are a lot of subscription boxes out there, and they can be great. This sounds like a good one. Coconut oil is very “in” right now but it’s hard to know the best ways to use it. I really like that this comes with all the ingredients and detailed information on the product. That lip balm idea sounds good.

Now this is my kind of subscription box since I’m a DIY person. I loved taking Food Science for my first profession so this is right up my alley. The coconut oil theme is great too. Love this and pinning.
