Easy Ways to Save Money at Home Using Solar

September 30, 2014 by Classystaff

Where I live in California, most of our power comes from electricity. I do have a gas stove, dryer, pool heater and hot water heater, but the major power suckers like the house heater, air conditioner, pool pump and other appliances are all electric. It is a huge part of my budget each month and to be honest, finding easy ways to save money at home on my expenses is critical since hubby is on a fixed income.

One of the things that we have been looking in to is solar power. There are so many different ways to add solar to your home, I was interested in seeing if it was an affordable option for us. Sunrun is a company that invented solar service as a way to get solar without the hassle of expensive ownership and huge upfront costs. A solar lease sounds like a plan I can deal with.

Here is what I learned about Sunrun Solar Service

* Electricity from Sunrun is more affordable than electricity from your utility. You can spend your savings on your retirement, college tuition, or a dream vacation.
* Sunrun installs, insures, monitors and maintains a solar system that is designed specifically for you and your home. You just pay a low, locked-in rate for the electricity that the panels produce.
* Sunrun gives you control over your electricity costs and protects you against unpredictable electricity rate increases.
* Sunrun monitors your solar system’s production remotely, so you have peace of mind.
* Sunrun solar is a win-win; good for your wallet, and good for the planet.

I have an appointment with Sunrun to check out and see if this will be something that would work for us. When it comes to saving money at home expenses, I need to do what I can. With no other options for electrical power, solar seems like an awesome alternative. Harvesting power from the sun is easy with our hundreds of bright sunny days in California plus it is great for the environment too!

If you are interested in a solar lease, check out what they can do for you. Plus take advantage of this savings offer too.

Special Offer from Sunrun

We have a special offer for the TwoCLassyChics readers. If you go solar with Sunrun before Nov. 30, you’ll get a $500 VISA® Prepaid Card. (Conditions apply.) Get a free solar quote here.

I will let you know in a future post all about my appointment too!

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

I am interested what Sunrun tells you about your options for solar energy. However, I don;’t think it would work for me in the northeast. I also love the idea of helping the environment.

I know too there are other advantages to alternative power sources. Here they give incentives to go greener. Unlike you though I live in the Midwest where sunshine isnt always the norm . There are some solar users but not as many as there could be. I wish they woud allow personal wind machines. Iowa believe it or not is number 1 in the nation for wind power and it used to be the norm on many farms!

This is a really great post I am getting more and more interested in doing this. Electricity is getting way too expensive and it just goes up and up and up. I love that this is also environmentally friendly.

WOW! Any way that a family can do to save money and cut down on electricity costs are very good. I would love to get Solar Panels, but not right now. I will check it out and see about this company. It sounds great!
