The holiday are just around the corner and if you have a child in your family who is just learning how to ride a bike, the BMXie Balance Bike would make the perfect starting point and a great holiday gift.
A few months ago we hosted a giveaway for one here on our Two Classy Chics blog ~ sponsored by Chillafish. Today, we are actually reviewing one and giving you our personal thoughts on it.
The BMXie is a balance bike for children ages 2 through 5 years. It is a great first bike to help teach them to balance and how to ride a bicycle safely. It is the coolest balance bike in the world and children every where love it!!!
The BMXie balance bike doesn’t compromise: a real BMX-styled bicycle frame, oversized tubing but extremely lightweight. Superduper cool design, adjustable seat without tools and a removable footrest. It even comes in 5 different fun colors!
Our grand daughter is 5 years old and is now ready to learn how to ride a bike. She has one with training wheels but isn’t happy with that. We thought this balance bike was the next step in her progression to learn how to ride a bike. Once it arrived, hubby read over the assembly instructions and had it all together within 10 minutes. Really simple assembly.
What is really nice is that you can adjust the seat as your child grows and you do that with absolutely no tools. For Gia…we got it at the right height that was comfortable for her and then worked with her on how to balance herself on the bike.
One thing that really impresses me is how extremely well-made this balance bike is. She knocks it over, it falls onto the ground & cement and it still looks beautiful. It can take whatever your kids dish at it. Another thing I like is the tread on the tires. Yes, the tread! Here in the northeast our surfaces get very slippery thanks to snow, dew, rain, etc. She has had no issues with it sliding around on slick surfaces at all.
When she sits on it…it is very comfortable for her thanks to that contoured seat and those padded/gripped handlebars which are the perfect width and distance from where your child sits. She has been the “envy” of other children here in the neighborhood when she is out riding her bike. I can see why…it is HOT looking!
She has been practicing on her new balance bike for about 2 weeks now. She hasn’t had a whole lot of time to ride it because of the wedding and the start of school but I can tell you that she is really getting the hang of it. We are hoping that with the help of the balance bike, she will be ready for a 2-wheeler come Spring.

These always look soo sturdy and although hopefully a child learns quickly it also lookss like it would certainly be a good thing to pass onto a younger child when tthey are done with it too.
This is such a wonderful bike. My niece would love to get one of these for Christmas. Your Grandaughter sure loves her really nice bike, and she is so cute. I like this bikes colors.
I think this is a great invention! Teaching balance and turning is a great way for a kid to learn.
I have been seeing these bikes more and more lately. They sound really great and I wish I would have had one when I learned to ride my bike. Have a great weekend.
