Larger pores are usually seen on faces that are oily or aging. Excessive sun damage is also a culprit adding to the aging process and thicker skin stretches out the pores. Men also have a tendency to have larger pores and even genetics can play a part. Having large pores is not something that is “curable”but it is something that we can control through treatment and care.

Here are 4 ways to shrink large pores

1. Keep your face clean by using a gentle cleanser at the end of the day to wash off dirt and grime. Take care not to over wash as it will cause more oil to be produced. An gentle exfoliating cleanser is good once a week or so as well. Do not scrub your face!

2. After showers and face cleansing, make sure to rinse your face with cold water to close your pores.

3. Makeup can help reduce the visibility of your pores. Make sure to use only oil-free non-comedogenic moisturizers and foundations. Use a face primer made for oily skin to reduce the soaking in of your foundation. Mineral makeup is a big plus for those with large pores. All natural products work well to reduce the appearance of pores. A finishing spray or powder can help reduce the wearing off of your makeup too for longer lasting results.

3. Weekly, you can use a clay based mask to help draw out impurities.
