The Happy Trunk Kid’s Crafts and Science Kits

August 19, 2014 by Shelly

The Happy Trunk Kid's Crafts and Science KitsWhen I was a little girl I would spend a lot of time doing various arts & crafts projects with my mother and grandmother. Over the years I have grown to love all kinds of different crafts and dabble in crochet, knitting, painting, beading, scrapbooking and so forth. Matter of fact, I have another blog that is just for crafting!

Now that I am a grandmother, I am passing on my love of various arts & crafts to my 5 year old grand daughter. Luckily for me, she LOVES coming over to my home & sitting down with me to do them. We do all kinds of different things together and I love spending that time with her.

The Happy Trunk Kid's Crafts and Science Kits

Recently we were introduced to The Happy Trunk which is a subscription box service where they deliver a box of craft goodies to you every month. Almost everything that you need for the project is included. You can join and get a 1 month, 3 month, 6 month or annual subscription. Each of the subscriptions include free shipping which is really great!

We received “The Familia” craft kit to review for all of you. With this craft kit you sit down and make a family of wooden peg dolls. The kit includes: 8 peg dolls in various sizes, decoupage medium, foam brush, decorative paper, rhinestone embellishments, ribbon and an instruction sheet. Everything is packed nicely into a cardboard storage box.

The Happy Trunk Kid's Crafts and Science Kits

To do this particular project we used our own scissors, markers and ribbons. From start to finish…it took us about an hour to complete and the Princess really loved sitting down with me to make them. While they do include an instruction sheet…they also want you to be creative and it is perfectly fine to come up with your own designs with the included supplies.

In just our first craft session with this particular kit we made 4 of the wooden peg dolls. The next time the Princess comes over, we will make the other 4 since we ran out of time on this particular play date.

The Happy Trunk Kid's Crafts and Science Kits

The Happy Trunk Craft Kits are great gifts to give during the holidays, during birthdays or just order them to keep on hand when those rainy & cold days hit. Kids are always looking for something creative to do and these craft kits do exactly that…spark their creativity! We love them!!!
