Revive – Volumize – Refresh Hair with Dry Shampoo

August 10, 2014 by Shelly

Revive - Volumize - Refresh Hair with Dry ShampooWe’ve all been there before: We over-slept and are running late. We need to get out the door in a hurry and have no time to wash & dry our hair. Been there, done that!  Now there is a solution and it is called dry shampoo.

Let me introduce you to New York Streets and their dry shampoo which is designed to bring life back into oily hair, for the girl on-the-go and is inspired by trendsetters for a clean, odor-free and voluminous look.

You can throw this product in your gym bag, keep one in your locker at school, one in your desk at work or one in your car. You never know when you might need it!

To use this dry shampoo: Shake the can well, spray the product in your hair and then massage through. You can let your hair go naturally or re-style it however you would like.

Revive - Volumize - Refresh Hair with Dry Shampoo

A few weeks ago I was stuck in bed for about 3 days. I suffer with chronic migraines and when those cluster migraines hit…I can barely lift my head off the pillow. After not washing my hair for 2 days, I knew it needed a pick-me-up…the perfect time to try out this dry shampoo.

I sprayed a little bit into my hair and then massaged it through. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t dry onto my hair like powder and didn’t leave any type of white or sticky residue. It is suitable for all hair colors, even dark hair! (my hair is medium brown). On that particular day, I just brushed my hair and left it go naturally. My hair looked clean & fresh once again!

About a week after that…I over-slept and needed to be at my doctor’s office at 6am. I jumped out of bed, got dressed and used my dry shampoo in my hair. I styled it with my brush, added a tad of hairspray and I was out the door in 15 minutes flat. What a life saver as I definitely did not have time to hop into the shower & then do my hair!

While I wouldn’t use this product on a daily basis, I can see it’s place in this world. It is nice to know that dry shampoos can help revive, refresh and volumize our hair on days that we need a little extra help.  Overall, I love this product and will continue to use it.

I can definitely see different times when I would want a dry shampoo. I am glad that it is colorless, odorless and not sticky.

I feel your pain. I get migraines like that myself a couple times a year so I’m so sorry to hear that your suffer with them as well. When I hear Dry Shampoo I can’t help but think of the powdered stuff my grandmother used to have in her bathroom. So glad to know that this isn’t anything like that!

It sounds quite user friendly. We are going on a week long train trip next month and I might need some of this after a day or so!

I liked that it was colorless and wasn’t sticky too. I am going to keep a can on-hand for when I travel, wake up late or just sick and need to get my hair done quickly.

You poor thing! Migraines are debilitating and can knock you off your feet for weeks. Hope you don’t have one for a long long time.
Great review though. When my daughter was hospitalized, we learned about dry shampoo. It definitely has its place and needs. I really like that this one is designed to add volume and no smell. Some have a fake, overpowering scent so the unscented would be nice.
