Little Elliot Big City Children’s Book by Mike Curato

Little Elliot Big City Children's Book by Mike CuratoI love children’s books and when our daughter was little, I always read to her on a daily and/or nightly basis. Now as an adult…she still loves to read books!

I have passed on this love of book reading to our 5 year old grand daughter. Every time she visits me, I have a massive children’s book collection & she always selects several books for me to read to her.

Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group is publishing a new children’s book by author Mike Curato titled “Little Elliot, Big City.” The book will be available for purchase starting on August 26th, 2014. This is the first book in a new series of Little Elliot books with new editions to follow in 2015 and 2016.

Little Elliot Big City Children's Book by Mike Curato

Synopsis: Amid the hustle and bustle of the big city, the big crowds and bigger buildings, Little Elliot leads a quiet life. In spite of the challenges he faces, Elliot finds many wonderful things to enjoy — like cupcakes! When his problems seem insurmountable, Elliot discovers something even sweeter — a friend.

My Thoughts: This children’s book is absolutely adorable! I love the bigger size to this book and the illustrations are just gorgeous! Little Elliot is the cutest elephant that I have ever seen…heck, I want Elliot to be my friend too!

Elliot is a little different than other elephants and has polka dots. He is small in size and feels that no one notices him, especially when he went into a store to buy cupcakes. While in the city, he notices someone else who is smaller than him who had an even bigger problem and Elliot becomes his friend & helps him out. Towards the end of this cute story, Elliot does indeed get his cupcake and has a new friend!

Overall, this new children’s book is really impressive! I just love it and have really enjoyed reading it to my 5 year old grand daughter. Matter of fact, she took it into preschool last week and the teacher read the book to the entire class. All of the kids loved it!
