Getting My Laundry Clean the Natural Way

Green Virgin Soap Nuts Liquid for the LaundryI have been pretty open here on the Two Classy Chics blog about the various health problems that I have…one of them being extremely sensitive skin from a rare genetic disease called Porphyria.  Not only do I have sensitive skin but I am also very chemical sensitive.

Over the past few months I have been noticing that I get a lot of skin flare ups and that is mainly due to a variety of chemical-laden laundry products. Have you all read the ingredients/labels on those things recently? Oh my gosh…I can’t even pronounce half of those words!

Recently I was introduced to Green Virgin Products and their wonderful Soap Nuts Liquid. It is a USDA Certified Organic Laundry Detergent & Fabric Softener in one! That’s right, it is ORGANIC and it is a laundry detergent + fabric softener in one product!

The Soap Nuts Liquid comes in a pump style bottle, much like liquid hand soap. The 8 fl. oz. bottle will do 120 HE wash loads making it a HUGE money saver and space saver! I don’t know about all of you…but I am all about saving money!

It is super concentrated, non-toxic, chemical free and hypoallergenic! You can use it to wash EVERY member in your household’s clothes! From babies to seniors and everyone in between.

To Use: Just add 2 pumps to an average size load.

soap nuts liquid laundry

I decided to try out this Soap Nuts Liquid doing a regular load of household laundry. I added 2 pumps to the washing machine as the water was filling up and tossed in our laundry. The laundry load included: shorts, t-shirts, under clothing, socks, etc. Basically, a general load of household laundry.

The first thing you will notice is the color of the liquid which is a brownish color. Second, you won’t find any fragrance or smells to gross you out. Matter of fact, I smelled nothing. Third, it doesn’t add a gazillion suds to your laundry load which does NOTHING but leave a nasty film on all of your clothing. I don’t know why people think that the more bubbles that you have, the cleaner your clothing will be. FALSEHOOD people!

After the clothes were done washing, I removed them and they looked very clean. I tossed them into the dryer and waited for the load to complete. Once done, I removed everything and noticed right away that our clothes smelled  & looked clean. Furthermore, there was NO static cling! Oh my….no static cling! I was in laundry heaven for sure!

I have been using this product for well over a week now and just love it! It takes up very little space and does a great job with our household laundry. I am giving it a big 2-thumbs up!

To save on the energy bill use the cold (wash) & cold (rinse)! Just a short time ago, I relearned when tumble-dried clothes are dry — preferably when they are still in a warm stage (just coming out of the dryer) — hang them up or smooth on a separate, flat surface and then fold them right away.

If possible, don’t just pile everything up together as you wear it. We use part of our guest room for different piles of dirty clothes…towels, jeans, reds, underwear…This only takes a moment instead of throwing it all in a basket to later sort out. Also, it helps us know how big a load and saves time when doing laundry.

  69. Laundry isn’t my strong suit, so I don’t have any great tips. But I’ll tell you something my mom does. When she washes something delicate, she puts it inside a pillowcase and ties it closed.
