I guess we can assume that summer is officially here. After all it was 108 Monday and a balmy 101 yesterday. I used to be a fan of hot weather and would spend as much time outdoors soaking up the rays. Now, no way. I barely want to leave the house in the afternoons when it is that hot out. Thank goodness for a/c and my pool! I at least can flop into the cool water when I get too hot
How do you beat the heat on super hot days? Lots of water, a/c and cool clothing for me! Errands i have to do in the early mornings or evenings. I just hate being too hot, don’t you??
Here in Kentucky summer really hasn’t hit yet. It’s 66 now with an expected high of 75 with rain most of the day. I’d love for a little more sun and heat!
I really don’t mind being hot. Here in Downeast Maine, it doesn’t get very hot too often, so it’s not really a problem. So far this year, we’ve only had one day that broke 80 degrees; today was only in the low 60s. I haven’t even broken out my flip-flops yet!
Ya know it seems the older I get, the less I can handle the heat. I used to be the same way, I could work out in the yard for hours, even during the hottest part of the day, without it really bothering me. Now a walk down the driveway to the mailbox has me hurrying back inside to the A/C!
Congratulations to the winners.
I agree with you. I used to love the hot weather and I actually used to sunbathe in it. Now I hate anything over 80 degrees. I cling to the a/c in the summer, love to be in the water and I wear sandals and cool clothing. I really hate getting in the car in the heat.
I live in Texas so we have to deal with the heat and even worse the humidity for a majority of the year. Hydrations is definatelyextremely important to staying cool and healthy. I also enjoy wearing lots of skirts and flowy dresses. If I am working in the yard or garden I try to work in the shade and take plenty of breaks.
Congrats to the winners.
Congrats, susan! I know I am excited for the win. Thank you. My Missy appreciates it and thanks you, too.
My daughter is very cold natured and loves the heat. 90’s – bring it on! Any breeze makes her cold. I’m the opposite. I don’t do well in the heat but love swimming. Thankfully, we have a pool, and it makes for wonderful days. It’s great to just laze in the water in the evenings with the setting sun or do a BBQ and go from the patio to the pool. I’m with you on lots of water, cool clothes and sheets, and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Doing my errands in the morning also helps some.
Congrats winners! I love hot weather and always have. What’s changed over the years is my inability to stand the cold! I never use the AC and rarely the fan, but I don’t mind sweating. I’ve kept most of my Midwest “cold clothes” so I am prepared when it turns frosty. Drinking more so I don’t get dehydrated is how I deal with the heat though.
Congratulations to the 2 winners.
I am glad that we do not yet have those high summer temperatures here in the northeast. I too would not want to be out in temperatures above 90 degrees – except if I was immersed in water, I beat the heat the same way you do lots of water iced tea, a/c and shade.
