Heat Managing Pillow Covers & Mattress Pad

June 4, 2014 by Shelly

slumber cloud mattress protectorFor the past 25 years I have been a “hot” sleeper with menopause induced hot flashes. All of this was brought on when I was 21 years old and had a total hysterectomy with no hormone replacement. Every night when I go to sleep I am awaken at least 5 times due to sweating and hot flashes. It has been an on-going nightmare for me for 25 years until now!

Recently I was introduced to a line of Outlast Heat Managing bedding products from Slumber Cloud. I had no idea they even made products like this but let me tell you, there is a HUGE need for them in the retail marketplace.

Comfort is more than just softness, thread count or fill. The Outlast bedding combines these features with a patented Outlast heat management technology for a new definition of comfort. The Outlast technology proactively and continuously adjusts to temperature changes under the covers so sleepers stay at a comfortable temperature for sleep. It is like having your own built-in thermostat with your bedding!

This type of bedding helps to reduce over-heating, provides thermal compatibility with your sleeping partner, balances temperatures under the covers and will help you to sleep more soundly. Definitely something that I needed since I am a “hot” sleeper and hubby is a “cold” sleeper.

For my review I received a set of the PILEUS Pillow Covers and a CIRRIFORM Mattress Cover in a queen size to review for all of you. I followed the package instructions and wash all of the items before placing them on our bed. They all laundered just beautifully!

The Pileus Pillow Covers come in a 2-pack and you can get standard, queen or king sizes. They are 300 thread count covers made out of super soft 100% cotton. They are machine washable and have a zippered enclosure with the Outlast fabrication on both sides of the cover.

One of the things I love about these pillow covers is that they are generously sized and I had NO problems sliding our lofty bed pillows into them. They have a really nice zipper enclosure that keeps your pillow in-place. The fabrication is super soft and heavy-duty. My old pillow covers (pillow protectors) were cheaply made and very thin. These are luxurious pillow covers that are extremely well-made.

CIRRIFORM Mattress Pad

The CIRRIFORM Mattress Pad comes in 6 different sizes: twin, twin XL, Full, Queen, King and Cal-King. We got the queen size which will fit mattresses up to 60″ by 80″ in size. A few months ago I got a new mattress set with a pillow top and this mattress pad fits on perfectly, so if you have a newer & modern mattress set with a pillow top, this pad will work for you too!

It features 300 thread count, 100% cotton for soft breathable comfort. It will fit mattresses up to 20″ in depth. It has 100% polyester fiberfill to help provide supportive comfort and it is hypo-allergenic. Just like the pillow covers, it has the Outlast heat managing technology which absorbs and stores your excess heat…releasing it only when you need it. I love that my sleeping temperature is now managed automatically all night long! It is like MAGIC!

Hubby and I have been sleeping with our new mattress pad and pillow covers for about 3 1/2 weeks now. If you ask us both…we will say that we are BOTH sleeping much better now! I am staying cooler and only getting up at night to go to the bathroom and he is staying warmer. Finally, a solution to our sleeping problems!

I am a TRUE BELIEVER in these bedding products and I highly recommend them to all of you.

This new technology for pillow covers and mattress covers makes sleeping so much easier. This would be perfect for us since I like it cooler and my husband likes it warmer.

These sound perfect for my hubby and myself! I still get those hot flashes and have been past menopause for a good 5 years. And he is always hot, even in the winter.

I definitely need a new mattress pad. I am a cold sleeper though so that’s one blessing, especially living in a warm climate. Thanks for the review.

What a great product! I have to sleep at night with blankets no matter what the temperature and that often causes me to overheat as well. This is something to look into for sure.

That has my name all over it! I had a total hysterectomy 10 years ago – I thought that all these hot flashes and nght sweats would stop by now. THEN I find out that my grandma, may she rest in peace, was still getting hot flashes when she passed at age 98. I guess it runs in my family. I MUST try this out! Thanks for the 411 on this, I never heard of this company before!
