Good Cook Fruit Basket Cake Recipe

June 23, 2014 by Classystaff

I love fresh fruit and during the summer my favorite fruits are in season. Watermelon is my main addiction and strawberries run a close second. One of the things that is annoying is storing the extra watermelon and other fruits. The juices collect at the bottom of the bowl making your fruit soggy and icky. Our friends from Good Cook have solved that problem with a cool new fresh fruit 3 piece bowl set.

This is a large bowl! You can probably get half of a full size watermelon in this bowl. It has a strainer bottom that allows the juice to drip into a secondary bowl with a pour spout so you can drain out the juice. Plus there is a lid that will keep the fruit fresh and tasty!

Since we love fruit in this house, I thought I would prepare a cake loaded with assorted fruits but that is light and delicious too.

Fruit Basket Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

1 Angel Food Cake – baked in a bundt cake pan
2 Containers of Strawberry Glaze
Cut up fruits or berries (strawberry, blueberry, sliced banana, etc)
Any Fresh Whipped Cream Frosting recipe

Directions:
Slice the cake in half so you have a top and a bottom. Layer on the bottom section the Strawberry Glaze, slices of cut up fruits then icing, in the amounts desired. Place top half back on and frost completely. Add additional glaze and fruits to the top. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Refrigerate leftovers.

Easy to prepare and amazing flavor full of the fruit of the season. I hope you try it!
