June is a fun time where I live. It is county fair time and we are lucky to have 2 fairs in our area – the main one and a secondary one in a smaller town that was held a few weeks ago. I enjoy going to the fair and we go at least one night, sometimes even more. A few years ago, I think we went every night but one. LOL I used to love to ride the rides when I was younger but I don’t get into that too much any more. There are so many cool rides now, but my favorite used to be the teacups and that giant flat circle one that you stand up on and it spins you almost vertically. My other favorite ride is one that is not at the fair, but at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and it is a giant swing in the shape of a boat. I love that ride! Wish they had that at the fair!

We also have concerts to listen to that are fee with admission and I enjoy going to those. My son is working security at the fair this year so he will not be able to enjoy any of the rides this year. But we still have several other huge fairs that happen right around us this year so I am sure he will get his fun at one of those. I have to get to at least one of them so I can get my corn dog fix! We all know the best part about the fair is the food! πŸ™‚

Do you enjoy going to the fair? What is your favorite thing to do?

We have a few winners to announce today. With two giveaways closing last night,

Every Labor Day weekend, there’s a great country fair here on the Maine Coast–the Blue Hill Fair. Lots of great agricultural exhibits, which I really enjoy, and competitions like horse pulls . But the most fun is the Northeast U.S. Sheep Dog Trials, which have been held at the fair for almost 50 years. The border collies and other sheep-herding dogs are absolutely amazing.

I like going on the rides and enjoy eating the delicious food that is at the Fair. Our big Fair does not start until September. I love getting the Elephant ears!

Congratulations to the 2 winners yesterday.
The giant swing ride in the shape of a boat at Santas Cruz sounds like a ride I would love take. I don’t go on any thrill rides any more, but it is still fun to go to the different fairs and see what they have to offer in foods, different homemade products ,etc.

My boys and I love going to the little county fairs. I love the food and my kids love the rides and games! Nothing says summer like a funnel cake and a fair!

Although it’s been years since I have been to the fair I always love it! It’s the rare occasion that I get a funnel cake, corn dog, cotton candy, candy and sodas all in one night! If it weren’t so hard to go with a walker or wheelchair I’d go again. I esp loved the one in Oregon when we lived there. Their State Fair was awesome!

I haven’t been to a fair in ages. I like all the junk food they have. Our local amusement park has a big pirate swing like you mentioned. It’s fun.

I too love the County Fair we have two of them where I live. I used to like riding the rides but not so much as I have gotten older. I love walking through and looking at the booths and the 4-H animals oh and the food.

Ohhhh, the faris wheel at night! nice! I love to go to the fair but I always find the time of day when there are the fewest people, lol.

We went to the Strawberry Festival down in Cape May several days ago which was fun. I don’t get on scary rides anymore due to my medical implants & stuff but bee and I did get on a few “mild” rides up on the boardwalk a few nights ago. I love this time of the year.
