June 26, 2014 by Classystaff

The 4th of July is a traditional time for family get to-gethers and fun times. Parades, fireworks and back yard BBQs plus plenty of snacking is on the menu for many people. Good food seems to be at the center of celebrations and we have 3 easy appetizer dip and salsa recipes that are sure to please any of your guests and your tummy too!

These recipes are great to serve alongside gourmet crackers, potato chips, pretzels, veggie sticks, tortilla chips, corn chips, and even try some on bruchetta for a taste treat!
Tomato and Chile Pepper Salsa Recipe

Tomato and Chile Pepper Salsa Recipe

28 oz. can diced tomatoes
1/3 cup green Chile peppers, finely chopped
1/4 cup onions, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

In a large mixing bowl combine together all of the above ingredients in the order they are given in the recipe until well combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 2 to 6 hours to allow the flavors to infuse. Remove and serve chilled with your favorite snacks.

Looking for a new slow cooker? I have three of them and use them all of the time. The last two that I got…I purchased from Amazon and love them!

Guacamole Dip Recipe

3 tablespoons lemon juice (bottled or fresh)
1 large tomato, quartered
1 small onion, quartered
1 small jalapeno pepper

You will need to place all of the above prepared ingredients into a large blender container and place the lid firmly on top. Process the mixture on medium until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy with just a tad of chunks in it. Once done, transfer mixture to a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.

Garlic Vegetable Dip Recipe

1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons 2% milk
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

I’d be happy with any of these dips and salsas any time, not just for the Fourth! The cottage cheese recipe, in particular, is one I could put together readily from items on hand. Thanks for the recipes.

I’ve never thought about putting jalapeno in my guacamole, but now I’m going to have to give it a try!

Thank you fro the recipes. I never made a dip using cottage cheese and mayonnaise, so that is the recipe I am most curious to try out. Fresh dips and salsas make such a difference at a gathering , especially since you can serve them with vegetables if you don;t want to use crackers, etc.

We seem to go through a rut when it comes to dips and salsas! I really like these. Most esp the recipe for the Garlic Vegetable Dip. It would even be good on some good bread.

I’d like any of these. I’d put some fresh garlic in all three of them.

I eat a lot of salsa. The ingredients are so inexpensive here in the local markets. It’s filling too and full of great nutrition.

I love fresh salsa. I’ve never made it myself, but looks like I have a recipe and no excuse.

I love a good fresh salsa in the summer time. I like how you kept this one chunky, my fave! All three sound delicious and I will be trying them out myself. Thanks!
