Good morning everyone! Wow…we got slammed with a nasty wind storm yesterday and had winds of 17 to 22 mph for several hours. We had to chase down our outdoor yard art, patio furniture and well, today my yard is a mess with down tree limbs again.
Today’s Topic: How many of you love going to Yard Sales and Flea Markets? Is this an activity you enjoy doing often or just every once in awhile? What kind of things do you like to buy? Do you have any tips for those who are new to this and if so, share below in our blog’s comment form.

I love going to yard sales. Do you know how much gorgeous shoes, clothes and other items I have gotten for hardly any money. I have gotten brand new shoes and boots! I will be going to Yard sales soon where I live. I love saving money!
As much as I love yard sales, I don’t stop at them very often these days. I have too much stuff as it is! But when I do stop, I always look for kitchen tools, pans, and books, especially cookbooks.
My only advice would be to avoid the “garage sales” that are really small stores. My neighbor has one of those, but the tourists don’t realize that the sale goes on for most of the year. Her prices are pretty high because she’s in it to make money, not to get rid of extra or unneeded household items.
We love to go to yard sales. It is a great way to pick up things at low prices and you never know what you are going to find! The other thing I enjoy about it is that you get to know the neighborhoods of your city so much better. You learn shortcuts, where the pretty houses are, and get to just explore places you would not normally drive through.
I used to love going to garage sales and sometimes flea markets, when I lived in Colorado and had a basement to store things. You can find some great bargains if you have the room to store them. Yes, going early is a good suggestion but sometimes towards the end of a two day, weekend sale, they will mark things down and I’ve found great bargains then, but slimmer pickings!
Congratulations to the 2 winners.
I used to frequent a lot of yard sales and flea markets. I would buy all different kinds of things form clothing to a snow blower. My advice is enjoy yourself, and if you want to find things before other people go early , but if you want the best prices go late, Also anything that needs electricity ask to plug it in to see how well it works.
