The sun has been shining and with Memorial Day behind us, we are officially kicking off summer in my family. We spent the weekend poolside and outdoors and if you are like me, you want to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. I was recently sent the Sunology SPF 50 Sunscreen for the Face and definitely gave it a good test run on my whole family over the weekend.
Over the years, I’ve probably tried dozens of different sunscreens for my face. My skin is sensitive and I’m prone to breakouts, so I always look for something that will not only protect my skin, but treat it well too. I really enjoyed using Sunology SPF 50 Sunscreen for the Face for multiple reasons, including that it doesn’t contain any chemical ingredients and being that it’s a natural sunscreen, it is ideal for people with sensitive skin that is prone to blemishes or irritation.
The Sunology products are highly effective suncare products inspired by nature. The company is dedicated to developing natural sunscreen products and educating consumers on the benefits of, and facts about sun safety while providing a powerful alternative: the highest SPF recommended by the FDA made with natural active ingredients (SPF 50).
Sunology’s founder Richard Doermer, who after faithfully applying chemical-based sunscreen daily for 26 years, was diagnosed with basil cell carcinoma. Thanks to his doctors, he won his battle with skin cancer, but was left with a lack of trust in the sunscreens he had been using. He developed a passion to create a safe, effective sunscreen using natural active ingredients. The result was Sunology Sunscreen.
Some of the key benefits and features of the Sunology SPF 50 Sunscreen for the Face are:
• 50 SPF (maximum allowed under FDA 2013 Rules)
• Active ingredients Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide derived from natural sources
• It does not contain Oxybenzone, Avobezone, Octisalate, Homosalate or other chemical active ingredients
• Made with VitaOleféra™ to moisturize the skin
• UV MicroReflexion™ reflects the sun’s harmful UVA/UVB rays
• FSG Complex™ to aid skin health (this ingredient has been independently shown to decrease wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation and dryness according to recent clinical research studies. Sunology is the only sunscreen that contains this patented, FSG complex.)
• Water resistant up to 80 minutes (maximum allowed under FDA 2013 Rules)
I found this product to be really effective and didn’t dry out my skin like some of the sunscreen brands (overpriced, brand names) I’ve used in the past did. Additionally, this sunscreen didn’t have an overpowering scent and felt great going on my skin. The Sunology SPF 50 for the Face is affordable at $14.99, which is a small price to pay for reliable sun protection. The Sunology sunscreen can be purchased on the Sunology web site.

I have not yet tried Sunology products , but I always put on sunscreen because my grandmother had skin cancer and made sure I used it after her experience. I like this sunscreen because it is SPF50, has moisturizer, reflects back the rays and is not expensive. I shall give it a try.
I am a sunscreen fanatic and always use it on my face – every day, rain or shine. I stick to “non-toxic” ones which are usually expensive but this is an awesome price. I’ll have to try it!
We are big on sunscreen and try several different ones. My daughter is very fair skinned and burns easily. We all love being outdoors and need a good SPF in a product we can trust. While her skin isn’t as sensitive as when she was younger, she is still careful with the products she chooses. It’s important to find a sunscreen you’ll wear that doesn’t irritate you. An added bonus is promoting skin health. Wear daily.
Use it, use it, use it. I had a skin cancer (basal cell) removed right from the center of my nose. It was deep and I have a ditched-out looking profile. Ladies, there is NOTHING sexy about a tan, and NOTHING sexy about skin cancer!
Good advice and points. I’m sorry about your cancer but glad you are still here. The mark adds to your profile, character, and beauty. Thank you for speaking up.
Aw, Sherry…thanks so much for your encouragement! It is much appreciated, as I am sensitive about it.
