I received a box with four different all natural jerky chip dog cookies to test. They came from Castor & Pollux Natural Petworks. The flavors I received were Oatmeal & Beef, Oatmeal & Lamb, Oatmeal & Chicken and Oatmeal & Salmon. Theses cookies are made from wholegrain oatmeal and protein packed jerky chips. They contain no soy, corn or wheat and are certified organic.
My dog, Sadie, is a very picky eater but goes right after treats. I gave her the lamb first. She took it but just laid it down. I was very surprised. I left for some errands and when I came back the cookie was gone. She did the same thing with the salmon cookie. However when I gave her the chicken and beef she took them and ate them right away. She has repeated this behavior each time I gave them to her. My guess is that she prefers the chicken and beef but the salmon and lamb will do.
I asked my son and daughter-in-law to try the ORGANIX Jerky Chip Cookies with their dogs. They both ate them right up. All the flavors. My neighbor has two little dogs and I asked her to try the cookies with her dogs. She had pretty the much the same experience I did. Her dogs did not care for the lamb and salmon but gobbled the beef and chicken right up.
I had the cookies on the coffee table at my son’s house. While we were discussing the cookies, my 21 year old granddaughter came home from work. She just saw that they were cookies and popped one in her mouth and chewed for a second or two. She had a very funny look on her face and we were all laughing at her. I told her she could go ahead and eat it because it was all natural organic food but it was really a dog cookie. She spit it out and said she’d pass. I think she learned to look first at what she was eating when I’m trying things for review. š
This company also offers dry dog food, grain free if you choose. They have canned organic flavors that you can also order grain free. Besides the cookies I tested they have other treats like organic peanut butter cookies. They also offer Good Buddy natural beef jerky treats along with Good Buddy USA rawhide mini rolls, braided sticks, rawhide chip dog chews and rawhide pretzel dog chews. They also sell all natural organic cat food. Their website offers all kinds of advice for training woes and recipes. Their food is certified organic by Oregon Tilth. I haven’t begun to tell you all that they offer on their website so go take a look and wander around, you will be glad you did.
