I have loved candles for as long as I can remember. Even growing up I had a fascination with them. I love the scents that allow you to relax and unwind and the flickering light that mesmerizes you into that relaxation mode. They are wonderful for refreshing the home and I usually have candles scattered throughout the house. Even my hubby has his own stash that he likes to use in the bedroom and bathroom. So when I was asked to review a new line from a well known company, I was happy to do so.
Olavie started out as a spa business offering amazing quality wine therapy skin care for spa treatments. Breaking into the home was the next step and they have created beautiful home fragrance scents that are reminiscent of the vineyard. There are a total of six regular scents plus one seasonal scent in the new collection. The six regular scents are 1) Signature Cellar, 2) Vineyard Garden, 3) Cassis & French Oak, 4) Tuscan Fig, 5) White Grapefruit, 6) Sparkling Violet and the seasonal scent is Fir Balsam. I was sent several to try and evaluate for you.
The Olavie candles are a great size. They are a bit over 8 oz. in a lovely glass jar. The scents are light and beautiful. Not over powering at all, which I am happy about. Some candles are really strong and cause headaches for me. Not these. The vineyard scents are totally unique and can be used in a variety of rooms throughout the home.
While I like certain scents, I appreciate the selection of scents that are offered. Thees are earthy, rich scents that are not overly floral or smell like cake that makes me want to eat it are a nice change of pace. These scents are easily blended into the home so you smell it but it does not hit you over the head. I like that!
The candles use a nice wax and burn slowly and evenly. I have had the violet one on my desk the past week and it has burned nice without smoking or hollowing out. Just make sure to burn it as long as it takes to melt all the way across.
The reed diffuser is a new favorite of mine. Believe it or not, I have never had one, but that has just changed! I love the grapefruit scent and it is perfect for my bathroom. Not over powering but a nice clean scent that is refreshing and delicate. The jar has a generous amount on liquid and comes with a cork type top so you can remove the reeds and close it up if you choose.
The new home fragrance line from Olavie is a beautiful line that any of you would enjoy. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, receiving a gift like this would make mom a happy gal, I know!

I love the smells of woods and earthy scents. The cassis and oak and the balsam would be my first choices in the candles. I love to burn candles and have really just started looking at the ingredients and how they burn after a few very bad experiences with candles I purchased. The soy sounds wonderful to burn instead of wax. Thanks and have a good day.
