I love gardening…all kinds of gardening! I love to plant flowers, vegetables, fruits and herbs. I love being outdoors in my garden or flower beds, even if I am out there weeding for hours at a time.
Last year I planted some bleeding hearts and they didn’t do too much. I was really disappointed but since it was my first time dealing with them, I chalked it up to a brown thumb.
Well, they came back this year and they came back big and beautiful! I was really surprised to find that all 10 of them are blooming right now and I just love them!
All of mine are a dark pink, almost red in color depending on how the sun is hitting them. If you look closely at them, they do indeed look like a bleeding heart! (or hearts in this case).
Well, there you have it. Another almost “Wordless Wednesday” post for this week.

Beautiful flowers. Thank you for sharing.
Oh, how lovely! I really like bleeding hearts, and they’re a good source of food for bees early in the season. I wonder if they’re like columbines, and don’t produce blooms the first year you plant them. Bet you’re glad you didn’t dig them up in dispair!
This plant is so pretty. I had a garden and flowers I planted when I lived in Colorado but it took so much time. I miss the fresh veggies though.
I have never seen a Bleeding Heart plant before this photo. These plants are beautiful and I am so glad that they came out for you this year.
The Bleeding Heart Plant is gorgeous, and your plant turned out really nice. I think that you have a green thumb and your other colorful pink bushes that you posted on Facebook are really pretty. Thanks for the pretty picture.
These are beautiful! For several years we have had a “palm” in a large pot on our veranda at our Spring home. I water it (sometimes) and trim the dead leaves (occasionally), and by some miracle it has not died – I have a notorious black thumb. Anyway, two weeks ago lo and behold a flower appeared and apparently our “palm” is a Bird of Paradise. I am tickled pink to think I have an exotic flowering plant!
We had these in our yard when I was growing up. Did you know you can take the flower, gently pull it apart and you get 2 earrings and 2 slippers. Very fun for kids.
