Summer is finally here and the sun is shining, the waves are enticing and it’s time to fire up the grill and do some serious grilling and chilling. My family loves the summer—my son will have the summer off from school soon and we love to spend our time on the back patio entertaining and enjoying the beautiful Southern California weather. We actually had some scorching temps a few weeks ago and in the midst of trying to beat the heat, my doorbell rang and a wonderful delivery of GoodPop Frozen Pops arrived at my doorstep. The timing was unbelievably perfect. We immediately opened the boxes and enjoyed some wonderfully delicious and healthy frozen fruit bars. The GoodPops totally hit the spot! I received four flavors of GoodPops for review (but there are plenty of flavors available), which included Strawberry Lemonade (my favorite), Hibiscus Mint, Watermelon Agave and Banana Cinnamon.

First, let me tell you about this company and its products. GoodPops are made with only the finest and freshest all natural, organic and locally sourced ingredients and were developed by University of Texas student, Daniel Goetz in 2009 who was craving a more wholesome and delicious treat –one that didn’t have artificial flavoring, coloring or ingredients that he could not pronounce. He created the GoodPop and it became a hit throughout Austin and now, this mouth-watering frozen treat has become available at natural and specialty retailers in over 15 states across the Southwest, West Coast, Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions of the United States.
GoodPop All-Natural Frozen Pops are the classic summer treat, but reinvented with the best all natural, organic ingredients available. GoodPops are made with delicious fresh fruit, 100% organic and fair trade cane sugar (organic evaporated cane juice) and nothing artificial, which I very much appreciate. I am trying to move away from mystery ingredients and make healthier choices and the GoodPops fit in perfectly with my new weight loss program, as they are only 48-63 calories for the non-dairy pops and 86-96 calories for the dairy-based pops. SWEET! They taste great and while the Strawberry Lemonade was the best in my opinion, I also love the Banana Cinnamon (my dog does too). The Watermelon Agave is subtle, yet refreshing and the jury is still out on the Hibiscus Mint. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose!
This yummy summer delight is perfect for so many other reasons as well.
Here are some additional reasons you’ll love GoodPops as much as I did:
• Made in small batches to ensure a great flavor
• Sweetened with fair trade USDA Organic Cane Sugar
• Gluten free
• Vegan (non-dairy flavors)
• No refined sugars
• No artificial flavors or colors
• Non-GMO
• No High Fructose Corn Syrup
You can also make a refreshing “poptail” if you are in the mood for something boozy. The GoodPops can easily be turned into an adult beverage in about five minutes by simply pulling out a fancy glass (think a martini glass looks the best), picking your choice of alcohol (about 1 or 2 ounces) and drop in your favorite GoodPop flavor (stick end up). Toss in some berries or a wedge of lemon, orange or lime and within minutes you have a fun, fruity cocktail that will impress your guests. With the upcoming Fourth of July holiday or even if you are hosting a summer pool party; this will be a crowd-pleaser for sure!
