Spring Cleaning with Bar Keepers Friend

Spring cleaning is something I look forward to every year. It is a time to throw open my windows, clean up the house and get everything organized before summer arrives. Matter of fact, I go on two big cleaning rampages every year…spring and fall. A few years ago a friend of mine told me about a line of premium household cleaning products from Bar Keepers Friend that she uses in her own home. At the time, I thought they were just like all of the other cleaning products out in the marketplace and didn’t give them a second thought. Well, until now. Last month I was sent 3 of the Bar Keepers Friend cleaning products to review for all of you and once I gave them a good workout in my own home, I finally realized what all of the hype was about. These products are different and yes, they really work!

First up, I wanted to tackle some hard water stains in our bathroom toilets, sinks, tub and shower. We have 2 3/4 bathrooms here, so I knew I had my work cut out for me. I decided to try out the Bar Keepers Friend “MORE” Trigger Spray + Foam Cleaner in all of our toilets first. As you can see with my before photo…the hard water stain is there. I sprayed the cleaner into the toilet bowls and left it sit for about 10 minutes. I went on and sprayed the sinks, shower and tub. When I got back to the toilet I simply used my toilet brush and 99% of that hard water stain came off within a minute! I didn’t have to scrub for hours and I didn’t stink up my house with smelly chemicals. Wow, what an impressive product and trust me, it did equally well in my sinks, bathtub and shower.

Next up, I wanted to clean up our kitchen sinks. I love to cook and bake so my kitchen sink gets pretty dirty every day. To tackle this heavy duty cleaning project I decided to use the Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser. It is a non-bleach formula so it can be used on all kinds of different surfaces in your home. The photo on the left shows a dirty sink, the photo in the center shows it being cleaned with the soft cleanser and the photo on the right is my new clean kitchen sink! This entire process took less than 5 minutes to complete! Yay!

Finally, I used the Bar Keepers Friend Cookware Cleanser and Polish to clean the bottom of one of my $100.00 stainless steel frying pans. I own a lot of high-end cookware and I like to keep it sparkling clean! This particular frying pan was getting brown colored burnt on grease marks on the bottom which looked terrible. I put the cleanser onto the bottom of the pan with a damp sponge. I waited about 5 minutes, scrubbed it again and then rinsed it off with water. Wow, what a difference that made! We then cleaned and polished all of the stainless steel cookware that I own and they all look beautiful again! Love this product!
