I love jerky. Any kind: from beef, turkey, and now some jerky companies are now including chicken to even more ‘different’ animals. Jerky has always been one of my favorite snacks. It is always what I would get for a road trip or I stock up when at the big grocery store. So when I found out that I was going to review some jerky from Perky Jerky, I was very very happy! I was even happier when I opened the bags… Amazing!
I am a foodie. I love food, (I know, a problem of mine!) But I love jerky and the various tastes and textures they may have. Jerky is not just for guys! Girls love it too plus it fits in with many of the popular diets including paleo, gluten-free, Atkins, low-carb and more.
The folks at Perky Jerky sent me 2 flavors to try out. I got to review a 2.2oz bag of Beef Teriyaki Jerky (Ultra Premium). This jerky was also incredibly tender. Very tasty jerky. It had the wonderful Asian flavor because of the hint of the soy sauce. I liked it a lot because I prefer beef jerky than any other type.
I had also received a 2.2oz bag of Turkey Sweet & Spicy Jerky (Ultra Premium). Boy, and could I tell it was ‘Ultra Premium’! It was so tender, not chewy and rough like the lesser quality jerky brands. The flavor was great too. It had just the right amount of sweetness to balance nicely with the sharp spiciness from the jalapeño mixture. It was not overly spicy, but had a good kick to it! I enjoyed both bags of jerky very much, but I did like this one better since I have the preference for some spiciness.
Perky Jerky has Beef and Turkey jerky, with four flavors available each: Original, Sweet & Spicy, Teriyaki, and Hot & Bothered.
Perky Jerky is not only fantastic because of the yummy taste, but it doesn’t have that bad stuff some jerky’s may have. Perky Jerky is All-Natural, Gluten-Free, No Preservatives, No Nitrites. It is always impressive to see the ingredients and be able to pronounce them all, but to also know what they are! Plus many of their products are ultra low in fat or have no fat at all!
It is also impressive and very admirable that Perky Jerky donates portions of their proceeds to Muscular Dystrophy and Down Syndrome Research.
This Perky Jerky jerky was absolutely delicious, and my favorite brand of jerky I have ever tasted so far. “If you are holding this, you’re one of the lucky ones.” I love this saying, and in my opinion, I think it’s true! Maybe I’ll get lucky enough, I’ll find some extra cash in my wallet to find some other Perky Jerky flavors! It is even at a decent price for premium jerky. Plus, Money can be saved with their monthly delivery!

I haven’t eaten much jerky. When I was a child I thought it was too tough and stringy. I guess I never ate the right kind. I shall have to try this premium tender jerky.
Well you got MY attention! I love this stuff! I’ve never tasted turkey jerky before but it sounds fine! (I’ve had duck jerky, it was DELICIOUS!) The teriyaki one sounds amazing, I love any Asian or Asian influenced food. Gonna check out this Perky Jerky for sure, I have a real craving for it right now!!! YUM!

Yum! I love jerky and slim jims…I’m a beef girl myself and like them spicy. I was eating more slim jims recently since they are easier to chew – often, beef jerky can be tough – but this has me wanting to try. Love the idea of Ultra Premium tender jerky, especially in a hot flavor. I went to their site and was excited to learn they are available at a Target near me. Thanks.
Love the Perky name! I have made turkey jerky in my old dehydrator and it wasn’t bad. I like that this is gluten free and that they contribute to charity.
I have had some of this jerky and it is so good that I could not stop eating it. I really liked the Teriyaki and original flavors the best. My son just loved these also.
