No One Could Have Guessed the Weather by Anne-Marie Casey
There is one thing for certain… when you put a group of women together, you never know what is going to happen! That is the great part about women’s fiction. There is something for every one in a great book and I have the pleasure of introducing you to a new author direct from the UK in this fun book I was asked to review. Check out:

Summary: The middle part of your story might just be the beginning…
After her husband loses his job, Lucy has to leave behind her posh life in London and settle into a tiny East Village apartment. Now she’s a middle-aged mother in the midst of hipsters, homesick and resentful until she embarks on a new love affair—with New York City and three new friends.
Julia has left her family for a mini breakdown and a room of her own. Trophy wife Christy is a bit adrift, as only those who live in penthouses can be. Robyn is constantly compensating for her wunderkind husband who can’t seem to make the transition to adulthood. And all of them are starting to learn that what you want in your twenties isn’t always what you need in your forties…
My thoughts: When I first started this book, it took me a chapter or two to get into the rhythm of the writing. Each author has their own flow and with this being a UK writer and the quirky sense of humor that they tend to enjoy, it took a few pages to get in the swing. I enjoy the British dry wit and this book is full of it. There are many humorous areas that made this an enjoyable read.
I love reading about relationships that women tend to develop. The author has taken four different women whose lives have crossed paths and created a humorous look at most women’s lives today. Overworked, out of touch and trying to make it through as sanely as possible. Sometimes I wonder how we do it all! While these 4 women were connected through their lives in New York, there was not as much interaction between them as I would have expected. They are often referred to in each others chapters, but it would have been more fun to have them interact more. When they were together, there is some great scenes. No Spoilers!
