The products are only found in small farmer’s markets across the US.
Each Hatchery box offers the opportunity to discover fresh new flavors and spend time cooking together as a family or couple. For $25 a month, members will receive a curated selection of 5-6 sample sized artisanal ingredients and condiments delivered to their doorstep.
Along with those ingredients, you will receive recipe ideas via a digital cookbook and the online marketplace. From a yummy Spanish omelette with wild mushrooms to a greek yogurt blueberry cheesecake, Hatchery offers a range of recipes to satisfy every palette. Plus, each box comes with a tasting guide within the box telling you about each product and company.
I received a Tasting Box to review for all of you and wow…I was immediately impressed! Inside my Tasting Box I received the following items:
* Jar of Strawberry Chipotle Jam
* Bottle of Sweet & Smoky BBQ Sauce
* Jar of Ohia Lehua Honey
* Bottle of Jalapeno Garlic Olive Oil
* Packet of Original Blend Spice Rub
* Jar of Fuego Salsa
Note: All items are sample sizes but many of them you can get multiple uses out of. Perfect sizes for try, before you buy!
My hubby loves spicy salsa with tortilla chips so he tore into that salsa in rapid fashion. This is a traditional red salsa made from fresh red tomatillos with Mexican-grown guajillo and abrol chilies. It had a very nice flavor to it with medium heat. This product comes from a small company out of Brooklyn, NY and hubby loved it!
The Sweet & Smoky BBQ Sauce from a small company based out of Atlanta GA was one of our favorite products out of the entire box! This is a traditional Georgia style BBQ Sauce that is sweetened up with molasses and brown sugar. We used this sauce on some chicken that we grilled up and it was delicious! Seriously good stuff!
My mother is a big tea drinker and often cooks & bakes with honey so she ran off with the Ohia Lehua Honey from the great state of HI. It is a delicate and mild honey that comes from Lehua blossoms that are only found in Hawaii. She loved the creamy texture of this honey and used it in some tea and in a homemade cookie recipe that she made last week.
So far we have used 3 of the 6 products that came in our Tasting Box. We are looking forward to exploring and trying out the other 3 over the next few weeks. I think this is the PERFECT gift for any foodie on your gift-giving list or gift it to yourself!
