The Hereford Inlet and Atlantic Ocean in New Jersey

March 18, 2014 by Shelly

The Hereford Inlet and Atlantic Ocean in New JerseyOne of the things I love about the Jersey Shore is the gorgeous views we get of the Atlantic Ocean from our beach house in North Wildwood. Our beautiful condo is right on the northern tip of the island, called Hereford Inlet. We are only a few blocks from the famous Hereford Lighthouse.

From our balcony we get to see gorgeous views of the ocean, beach and from time-to-time we even see dolphins out there swimming from our windows! The last time we were down, I was standing up on the sea wall and shot the photo that you see in my post today. I love how blue the water looked on that day and I love hearing it smack up against the rocks.

We like to sit out there and watch all of the shore birds suntan themselves over there on that little tiny island that sits between the Atlantic Ocean and the inlet. The photo was shot during low tide so during the high tide you see even less of the little strip of sand (island).

We are looking forward to going back down to our beach house next month when we will be celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Hubby has some special things planned for us!

This is a beautiful view and you are lucky to have the beach house down there. I am sure you will have a great time on your anniversary next month.

Breathtaking and exquisite! My heart is melting….beach, lighthouse, dolphins….I have never been but imagine it feels like you are in paradise. A trip away from it all hopefully. Listen to the soothing waves and the slapping of the water against the rocks. The beautiful music of the birds and the peace in the air. Your photo and post really bring it to us. Now, if only we were actually there. 🙂

What a gorgeous view!! I have to say… I’m a bit jealous right now. Congrats on the wedding anniversary, hope you enjoy a nice relaxing stay at your beautiful vacation home. 🙂

Every time I feel like life is getting sucky, all I have to do is look out our windows on clear days to see the sea or the beautiful mountains at our second home in Crete. You are lucky you don’t need to travel for 18 hours to get to your “happy place!”

I’m sort of close to the beaches on the opposite coast, but nowhere near as serene. You take your life in your hands most days driving along Pacific Coast Hwy in Malibu but once in a while it’s nice to visit and watch the surfers.

Ahh, beautiful view. And only 2,000 miles from me. Happy Anniversary!

Wow, what a view. A beach is the ultimate in relaxation to me – something about being near the water is so soothing. And you can see dolphins, too? How lucky you are! (And Happy Anniversary, the longest I made it with 1 man was 22 years, and that was pushing it!)
