In Chris’ Mailbox this week:
I was very excited to get a special package in the mail that I did not know was coming. My hubby surprised me with a container of my favorite soup base that I use to get the most amazing flavor in my homemade Chicken Soup and stews. I have tried other soup bases and this one is by far my favorite to cook with. I know it is silly to get excited about a soup base, but when you use something often, you kind of miss it when you don’t have it! Hubby was on Amazon the other day and spied it so ordered me a container. I was excited to see what was in the unexpected box and even more thrilled to see this. I had been out for a month or two and just had never gotten around to ordering. Thanks Hubby for thinking of me!

What a nice surprise! My spouse really enjoys it when he gets me something for the kitchen that I love using, whether it’s a food item like your soup base or something else; the last thing he got me was a KitchenAid hand mixer, and he always looks so pleased when I use it. I’m sure your husband will have the same look on his face when you use the soup base.
My mailbox was pretty bleak last week. I guess I’ll just have to live vicariously through all the other lucky commenters here, and hope for something fun this week.

Not much in my box this week – but I did a get a $5 Amazon GC which I gave to my hubby so he can buy a book about Spain because we are headed there in just over 2 weeks!

I think that it is wonderful that your husband knows that you have a favorite soup base and recognizes it when he sees it on Amazon. These types of surprises are the best kind because they show how much a person knows about you and cares for you.
I received some items I had won: Yardley soaps, Simply 7 snacks (they r good) and Suave Professional Moroccan products
I received in the mail last week, an autographed copy of Adventures of Buddy book by Lind Riddle. I had won it back in November and there were several delays in getting it shipped out but finally got it (despite them forgetting to put my apartment number on the envelope) I love dog books so it was worth the wait.
I got 2 AMC theater tickets, 2 coupons for herbs, $25 Walmart GC and coupons for Dole.
That was very thoughtful of your hubby. (of course he probably really likes what you make with it)
That’s sweet and not silly. The fact that he knows your favorite base and surprised you with it is wonderful. Who knows maybe he will even cook you something, too. 🙂
My daughter actually surprised me with a pair of sandals I had been wanting but wouldn’t buy for myself. 6pm was having a big sale on the brand and she found them there at a great price. Surprises like that just really touch you.

Surprises like that are the best kind, aren’t they? I got a bar of citrus bliss bath soap today that I had forgotten I had won 🙂
